Nobody is suggesting 8 football and 8 non-football. Some people are suggesting 12 football and 1 non-football. Very different animal.

They would if they joined right now. That may -- or may not -- be true later on down the road.
It's not just the pay cut but the lack of stability of the AAC vs the nBE.

Time could heal that flaw, too. We'll have to wait and see.
Anyway, every sensible observer knows that the AAC is not going to raid the nBE anytime soon. We have our deal and they have their deal and both have some relative strengths and weaknesses. The two leagues are probably going to (and I hope they will) hold steady for a few years and see what develops.

They will also bring considerable money to the league in the next TV deal. The Army-Navy game alone makes 5 million a year, and that's with a deal that was signed in 2009. Navy-Notre Dame and Navy-Air Force are also games that would add serious value to the league. That's why getting Army even though they are terrible would be worth it. Just their share of the Army Navy game alone would make the league money.

12th Non Football School
Navy is great as they are putting the conference above themselves. If I remember correctly when their contracts expire they will roll them into ours

And that's when I expect the AAC to renegotiate the TV deal, and that's why there is some hope to actually get a "tweener" TV deal.

I like army to, but I don't think they can compete look what happened when they previously had conference affiliation.

Doesn't really matter if they can compete. They could never win a league game and they'd still bring huge financial value to the league.

How about St. Louis? Good basketball and strong market.

Not against SLU, necessarily. For Tulane, Cincinnati, and Memphis, that would represent a link to the old original Metro Conference (1975-82). The Billikens seem very content with the status quo, though.
But beyond that, what happened to their team last season? 3 straight NCAA's with an overall record of 81-22, then they plummet to 3-15 in a watered-down A10. WTF?

Problem is that Army wants to go to bowls and needs to win to fill their stadium... if money is all that mattered, they would have joined the AAC.
I want Army more then just about anything. They add so much interest to the league AND they would almost certainly help us land Air Force, which gets us CSU.
Thats a 15 team league that is worth well more than what were getting and has an identity.
