Question was posed to our AD at a recent DC Pirate Club event. We aren't Marshall.

Well in that case, I'd be cool with a neutral game only, but I'd be pretty upset if you guys got a game in Greenville and we got ours in Charlotte. I like and respect ECU's program a lot, but not enough to be big timed like they're a State or UNC.

That is a myth. The state did nothing in regards to us playing. We just kept pushing and winning games and expanding stadiums.

There really is no talking to most of the ECU fan base. Spending 19 of my 23 years in Greenville has taught me one thing: Pirate fans have a very diluted view of their program and down right delusional. For years they were lobbying ACC/Big East. Finally they get into the Big East which actually turned to AAC aka CUSA 2.0. They see that their renovated stadium holds 50k and believe it gets filled week in and week out but then I'll be sitting with family in Pirate Club and I hear so many complaints about how the stadium isn't even close to capacity. The pirate nation is a very delusional bunch but regardless of if we get a true home and home with them I have no doubts we will take a game if not both. Their crutch is beating UNC and VT and NCSU but they don't look at he fact that each of those programs had historically down years for their programs in those years. Their inferiority complex is somewhat understandable though. The sad part about their angriness is the deed is already done their just finalizing dates at this point

I get it you need to take the wording that literal to try and prove your point but the facts are what they are. Not very impressive wins when you really take a look, on the surface, yes. if you wanna go back 5 years then we might as well go back 8 years when App pulled off a bigger W than ECU has ever gotten close to.
