So you're going to pay face value for a single ticket when Ole Miss comes to town?
That's smart.

Didn't pick up on it - probably because that sort of "fan" is not unheard of...

"can't afford" is a legitimate reason for some, though at $60 the number who can't afford should be somewhat small.
Does anyone know what the current head count is? Are we ahead of last year at all?
Grant Milner said last week that some firm numbers should come out soon (potentially this week). He stated that we're trending ahead of last year and that a large corporate account was about to renew.
Good news. Not sure what a 'good number' would look like at this point in the preseason however. Just take it on faith I suppose.

We moved from the vistor side to the home side this year (sorry, TV watchers). I wanted to up my tickets from three to four to let my Dad come to the games, but I couldn't get four tickets together in the area I wanted (sorry, Dad). :-)

Big problem if we aren't trending ahead of last year. We are coming off of our best season in 50 years and we have a marquee opponent on the home schedule for a change.

I doubled up last season from 2 to 4 because 2 became available next to me - and I attend most of the home games (all but Houston last year) & usually 2 away games (UCLA & Temple last season). I also have 2 for UGA where the kids went to school so they use them mostly except when Auburn plays at UGA then wife & I go since wife is an Auburn grad. Wife has become just as big of a Memphis Tiger fan as me over the years to the exclusion of Auburn & UGA. We love the Tigers & support them in FB & BB however we can. Time to get onboard folks. Personalities aside, let's support the program.

Pretty sure the cheapest season ticket is $89 now. It was $55 last year. Most likely because of the Ole Miss game.
So how much do you spend to get fairly decent seats? Just 2
Some of the $89 seats are pretty good... Liberty Bowl is a pretty good place to watch a game from a lot of vantage points. But I believe the next tier up is $200 a pop.
I prefer the end zone where I can stretch out even when I had tickets halfway up on one of the sides. So, I can tell you for the price of Fun Zone tickets, $89, you can sit all over the place....unless you want to be in a comfortable seat on the 50 yard line.

RE: Honest question - if you live in the 901 and do not have FB season tickets, why not?
I think Memphians are notorious for waiting until the last minute. I bet there will be plenty of tickets bought the last three weeks before the first game, when some of the advertising kicks in. People are engaged in their summer activities right now and don't have their minds on football, esp. the "casual" fans. They will all be back from Florida in good time. And there has been a mindset for several decades around here, because of our huge stadium and inconsistent success on the field, that there is never any urgency to get tickets. You can always get free tickets on Tiger Lane and $5 tickets from the street vendors right before the game.
Two points: Even if you cannot afford a season ticket, there is much less excuse for not coming to the games, unless you work on Saturdays or something. FREE parking on the street and FREE or cheap tickets on Tiger Lane. Get your butts in the seats!
The second point: The reason I don't have my season tickets yet, even though I have had them for years and years, is that I just wait until I am damn ready and able to buy them, when I have a nice paycheck, and then I buy my season tickets, my Highland Hundred membership, and a Youth Village ticket. I'm too old to be rushed.

Did someone mention rush?
Can't beat the rush of rushing!
First came Youth Village, next the Oct 17th ticket to Paradise, then came season's Football tickets for the first time!
A good time will be had by all.

Because I have kids whose soccer/football schedules may keep us from a game or two.
Because I have annual out-of-town family plans for Labor Day and Thanksgiving (three years running, Memphis has home games that weekend. Grrrr.).
Because Memphis plays in a 60k+ stadium that always has plenty of available, last-minute seats. (Thanks, Shirley)
I've bought season tickets before, and I'll probably buy them again.
For my family, for now, it's just season to season.

So here is my answer: Because I can get free tickets for any game from friends/family who have extra.
Not sure if the push is to pay for them so the University has more money or to get butts in the seats. I will go to most games, unless I have a family conflict. In regards to donating to the university, if I buy season tickets for basketball 1 time (which I have actually done many times) I feel like I have done my duty. Honestly, they should just raise the ransom they charge to buy basketball season tickets and "give away" football season tickets.

I feel ya on the soccer thing. Good thing I found a Friday league. Now the whole family can join me on gamedays.
