This is a huge year for the AAC vs Big East recruiting battle.
BE came out strong the first year after the split. Using Rivals 150 rankings
2014-
AAC 7 Rivals 150 (SMU 1, UConn 1, Memphis 1, Cincy 2, Temple 1, USF 1)
BE 20 (SHU 3, Gtown 4, Xavier 5, Prov 2, Creighton 2, VU 2, Marq 1, Butler 1)
2015-
AAC 10 (UConn 2, Memphis 2, SMU 2, Cincy 2, Temple 2)
BE 11 (Marq 3, VU 2, Gtown 2, Creighton 1, St. John's 1, Xavier 1, Prov 1)
2016 (so far)
AAC 2 (Cincy 1, USF 1)
BE 4 (VU 1, Butler 2, Xavier 1)
This year will be telling...
Why do yall continue to use Rivals??? 247 is much better and less biased
Can we stop with the myth that 247 composite rankings are better? Example because I am familiar with the player. Nazeer Bostick is commited to PSU for 2016. SF and no where near the top 150 but he is rated 144 by Composite 247. How is that even possible with he is a 3 star unranked by scout and rivals. He isn't even rated by ESPN...yet somehow 247 has him as the #144 in the country???
It probably does a good job with the top 50 or so players...but after that...probably not so much...

It will drop him once ESPN, Rivals, etc. give their ranking on him. For the composite to work (like it does) needs everyone to rate the players, which usually happens after awhile. Not 247s fought their competition can not go out and rank the players. Also Rivals does even review all the recruits and if a recruit commits to a school and Rivals does not review him they automatically give him a two star.

It's not a probably thing, it is. I've used both for years, 247 is far and away more accurate.
As for that specific player, they use an algorithm and something seems to have messed up on his calculation. 247 is the only one with a grade for him (again more extensive) and they have him as a mid level 3 star with an 84, but his composite for some reason is at a 91.24 even though it should just be an 84. You could try and shoot one of them a PM and ask about it.

RE: 3 Big UC BBall Commits in 24 hours
24/7 is really lacking on the basketball side...
me personally i suse 24/7 for football simply becuase i like the projections which is always unique, the composite rankings and the boltz which are free info..not to mention they are the only ones to rate juco consistantly
i use espn for basketball, the site is easy to navigate and espn college scouter always have the low down on who's going where and the news..and the players are more hyped about being on the espn100 than any other list
as far as the quality of the rankings its all opinions..everyone considers 247 more accurate but 247 hides its own rankings in the background and shows composite..most people dont realize 247 updates its rankings the least whatt changes normally tends to be the composite
but i did notice rivals has a completely different evaluation system than everyone else...espn/scout/247 will have roughly kinda similar rankings but rivals tends to be completely different ...
my thing is instead if arguing which is write or wrong, take the highest rated one because it means a professional scouter thinks your player is elite

He lost playing time as the year progressed. He is tough, has a surprisingly good jump shot, and came through on several occasions when called on, but his defense was suspect. State had four solid C/PF types and he wanted to be a starter. Nobody with talent stays at a school four years if they aren't going to start. It is a good get for the Bearcats.

I think players are starting to recognize the depth of Gottfried's incompetence when it comes to coaching.
Everybody is an expert, but he has been at State for 4 years and has make the dance each year and the sweet 16 twice.

It is true, that Washington was recruited over. He was still somewhat productive off the bench, but he wants to start, and did not like where it was going in Raleigh.

I'm not an expert. I just think he's a bad coach and doesn't develop the talent he brings in. When you have consecutive recruting classes ranked 10, 13, and 18 in the nation I would anticipate the expectation a bit higher than sweet 16s, middle of the pack ACC finishes, and 1 NBA first round selection.

The Pack had been down for the last 30 years when Gottfried was hired. He has made great strides with the program. Is he a good bench coach? I don't know. Does he develop talent? I would argue that he has. His big men have come a long way. He his point guard grew tremendously over the last two years. Other players have shown improvement as well, including Washington. He took a 7 footer that had done absolutely nothing his first three years and made him a valuable contributor during the 2013-14 season. He has had transfers like Purvis, Lewis, and Washington but that is the norm in college basketball today. No talented player is going to stick around when there is a chance they are going to be relegated to a roll player. Gottfried has done a good job recruiting and bringing in transfers.
Cincy is getting a good player that is unlikely to transfer again. I doubt Cincy is going to put all their eggs in one basket so he might well find himself in the same situation there. He will have to earn his place and improving his defense will be important in doing that.

I don't think Cincy is finished recruiting this class yet so it could be the best they've had in a long time. Conference affiliation hasn't slowed Cincys recruiting at all, I think it's improving.
