He needs to go. They'll send him packing.

Don't be surprised to see Talley start at SF. Staff loves him.

Time to cut ties. It's a shame as he would have been valuable next season. More experience to be gained for Talley and Carver.

I'm sure this was a huge boost to Jones' recovery...

Such a shame. I really think he would have started this year.

Bye.

Sure hope ODU were aware of the Arlington arrest. If not, that looks quite embarrassing after what happened with Baze a few years back.

Consider him gone. Hope he can get his anger issues under control, otherwise it's going to be a miserable life for him.

Yep - no patience for this kind of thing. This is his 3rd or 4th chance it sounds like. Bad seed, and the opportunities for redemption have now dried up. There is no place for this in our program. Snip snap cut him loose.

Wondering why it took this long, but talking with the guy you would think he's got it together.

So Sweet Georgia Brown says.

Too bad. I know a lot of really good kids who have all the potential in the world but continue to find trouble.

It is not always as cut and dry but I do agree that they will not allow him to be arrested a 3rd time as a Monarch.

Sad, in every way, but true.

not to be repetitive, but I don't think JJ or the AD have any other choice than to cut ties with him at this point.

he would have really helped the team this year too. it was nice having a true SF in the game during the NIT.

from previous altercation in arlington;
He appealed and plead guilty to the lesser crime of disorderly conduct on April 22, shortly after the basketball season ended. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail, with time suspended on the basis of good behavior. He was placed on a year’s probation, and ordered to pay $176 in court costs and $1,219 in restitution.

this tells me his probation is considered violated and he's goon deal with the 90 days....or more.

dang. I understand if you don't want to say, but it sounds like JD was looking for the other guy and was pissed off. then the roommate got in his face for coming in without knocking and JD laid him out?

that's what it sounds like anyway.

it says in the article that he has to be convicted for it to violate his parole. on the face of it, it sounds like that's is a very likely outcome though.

RE: This
This crap drives me up a wall. So many students struggle to get by and many leave school in financial shambles. This guy, however, has likely been told by everyone how wonderful he is since he showed potential as a ballplayer. He's just too damned ignorant to see this wonderful opportunity that many others helped him attain. Other than the victims of the actual crimes, I feel for the many coaches and mentors that he has let down.

I have no respect or tolerance for this nonsense.

Good riddance.

The guy I know (victim) was chilling in his room downstairs. He sees JD walk by his room towards the staircase. JD is wearing his ODU basketball warmups so the victim isn't intimidated.

Victim follows JD upstairs and says "hey man, you could have knocked."

JD punches victim. Rest is history.

JD entered the house because the victim's roommate was hanging out with a girl JD knew and liked. Her car was in the driveway.

No more chances.
Cut him ASAP. I have no patience for this.
This behavior does not deserve a scholarship.
