RE: Antonio Anderson about to join the staff ?
I'm all for it, might make a good low level assistant or ops guy once Josh leaves and Damon takes over. Would love to seem UofM give him the opportunity to get in on the ground floor and work his way up.

RE: Antonio Anderson about to join the staff ?
I used to not think this but I think at this time we need some ex tigers, preferably winning ex tigers on the staff for the long term health of the program.

Antonio could give toughness lessons to Chuck Norris. I'm all for it.

RE: Antonio Anderson about to join the staff ?
YES.
AA was my favorite player off those great late 00's teams. Tough, tough guy who could D, rebound, and cover 1-5 if need be. He could check a center if you asked b/c he's strong as hell.
Plus, he willingly gave us shots for the betterment of the team to CDR/Rose during his career and still hit shots / made plays when he needed to. Texas A+M anyone?
I'm against Tigers on staff for the sake of them being Tigers.
But AA is a WINNER and a GRINDER. He'd to be on staff as a starting level assistant or DBO as soon as the position is open for him.

He's defense in the Texas, Michigan St and UCLA games were a big key to that teams run.

Most indispensable non-lead scoring option I can remember in my adult life as a fan, which admittedly only goes back to the mid 90s. Before that I was a kid and rooted for the Tigers to 'put the ball in the hoop'. Not exactly analytical fandom when you are a kid, lol.
Actually, I can't think of a non-lead scoring option who was that valuable in the 95-current era.
Dorsey, you can make the case, but AA was probably more valuable.
Anthony Rice?
DJS?
All extremely good, but I still think it's AA.

There really should be some sort of University award named after Antonio Anderson and Maurice Avery.

Tigers athletics started before the 21st century. I'm sure there were plenty of tough guys who played for the Tigers (and who are equally as deserving) in the first 90 years of Tigers athletics.

Antonio Anderson was just great. I still remember that layup he made against Tulsa on the road to win that game at the buzzer ... those free throws against A&M ... man, oh man.

No doubt.
But hey I'm in the 35-40 range. AA is the toughest I remember (to be fair I was a kid during the 80s, so I just rooted for the team with Memphis State on the jersey, not the most nuanced fandom to be sure).
I think an AA award at the hoops banquet wouldn't be out of line... Something like, most selfless teammate or something.
Could go either way, not losing sleep on it

Useless trivia: the name of that play (against Tulsa) was "winner".
Cal said it, so it must be true....
