New South Endzone Club
A friend while in dekalb picked up a flyer on the specifics of the south endzone club. Pretty nice. They will be altering the berm. Outside seats and tables and a tent. SF giving lots of options.

RE: New South Endzone Club
I am interested as to when this project will be getting started. As I understood it from the Spring Game the front half of the berm will be totally removed. The original release said there would be no seats so I am wondering if that has changed.
No funds have been requested thru the BOT or bids gone out how the new field came out so this project will likely be fully within athletics.

You have to assume that this will be next once the field is complete. (if it hasn't been already). The end zone club isn't that complicated of a job, so it shouldn't take too long to complete once the shovels move in.

The tent will be heated for the November winter games. I wonder if they could rent a couple hundred more of the heaters and place them throughout the stadium? That, a bonfire, and a giant sunlamp may raise the temperature a degree or two in the stadium.

How about they just install seating in the IPF and and we can play indoors!

A good idea! And for those diehards who prefer sitting in temps in the teens and windchills hovering around zero, they can show the game on the scoreboard.

I liked the berm. And making it higher would have been cool.

I don't think making it higher would be cost effective when you consider the plan is to remove it all together eventually.

Seems like crummy seats though - low down, in the endzone. Hard to see too much, I would think. But I'm sure some people would like it - something different. I don't remember how much they said it would cost per person.

Booze and some shelter from the elements goes a long way.

How much shelter is there? At the spring game they basically just had a canopy. The booze would be popular, in any case.

The info says heated tents. That's better than nothing...lol.

RE: New South Endzone Club
As I see it, the seats there will not be permanent seats that you would sit in for the entire game. These are more like stools around a table that you can sit at and enjoy your drink and watch the game. You will still have regular seats in the stands. Don't know what Athletics will do, however, to prevent fans from being in those seats the whole game. I guess if you want to sit there until you pass out, just make sure that your seat is saved.

I'm not sure there are even actually going to be seats. Just hightop tables you can stand around.

You are correct. I just checked the Huskies web site. There is a rendering of the Endzone Club that has chairs with the hightop tables. However, there is text under the rendering that states: "Conceptual - Endzone Club will not have seating".
If the chairs won't be there, why put them in the rendering?

If the cost didn't, the "no chair" situation would rule me out. I can't stand the whole game.
