Wow. Size and athleticism. Imagine that front line with him Jurkin together.

I will trust that he and Coach Forbes had a very long chat about behavior and being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Beyond that I am pleased with the direction Coach Forbes is taking this program.

Perea might be the highest rated recruit EVER to sign with ETSU. ESPN insider ranked in the Top 100 (71st) in 2012 and gave him a "high major" score of 93. Unreal.

Mosquera-Perea is a long and super athletic Power forward. He excels in transition by running the floor like a deer where he finishes above the rim with flare over or around defenders. He has great size and not only jumps high but quick. He rebounds at rim level and blocks

Very nice! It looks like we will only have him for 1 season, but that season is shaping up to be very promising.

So we will have a senior-led team of AJ, Jurkin, HMP. Imagine if we somehow swung Barford. That team could make serious noise in the tournament.

Great steal, but hopefully he doesn't have any behavior problems while here. The first thing that popped into my head was the Dubose/Cooley incident that J.C. Ward may or may not have been involved in.

It's a gamble, but smoking it is a little different than selling it.

I am fully confident Forbes proceeded with due diligence before signing Perea. My hope for this young man is that he can come to ETSU for a fresh start and make the most of this opportunity.

I have to admit that this move worries me some.

Why?

It's a calculated risk, but here's the reality. 18-22 year old boys tend to smoke marijuana. I'd be more worried if he were doing blow, or smoking a little dust, but he's not. There also was no proof he was blazing up that day he was in the room with two guys who were.
My gut tells me he's on a tight leash and they'll handle him with a pretty strict set of rules.
ETSU has had a lot of risky players in its' history, and most of them have worked out.
