Exclamation Depth Chart?
I noticed that the SID office was unusually quiet regarding depth charts going into Spring football practices. Does anyone know what the 2 deep depth chart looks like as of the end Spring 2015?

RE: Depth Chart?
Not sure about an official two-deep, but this is an educated guess:

QB:
Jackson
Stehling
RB:
Davis
Dillard
WR:
Parks
Alaka
WR:
Z. Wright
Long
WR:
Mayden
L. Wright
RT:
Williams
Pierce
RG:
Godber
Thompson
C:
Martin
Stanley
LG:
Reue
Patterson
LT:
Anderson (If he gains enough weight)
Dawkins

Offensive Notes:

-There are five or six guys who could see time at RB. In addition to Jowan and Darik, look for Austin Walter, Sam Stewart, and of course Luke Turner.
-Reue could literally line up anywhere on the offensive line in a pinch. He may be a candidate for LT if Anderson doesn't bulk up. Caleb Williams is Mr. Consistent on the right side, and Peter Godber simply has tree trunks for legs and is a road-grater.

Defense

DE:
Schantz
B. Wright
DE:
Peterson
Womac
DT:
Mouchantaf
Henessee
DT:
Winship
Gordon
LB:
Lyons
Ellerbee
LB:
Elder
McGaskey
CB:
R. Pollard
Aston Walter
CB:
Blasingame
Banks
KAT:
Destri White
Espinosa
SS:
Cole Thomas
Nwakamma
FS:
Ibe
Fuhrman

Defensive Notes:

-We have an abundance of linebackers. Outside of the two deep, we have bonafide players in Nick Uretsky, DJ Green, and Chandler Watkins.
-Secondary, especially safety, will be young. I think it has a higher ceiling than last year's though.
-I'd expect that one of the freshman D-Linemen will play next year, but kind of tough to put them on the depth chart when they don't arrive on campus till June.
-Another defensive player is likely back.
P:
Farrimond
K:
This is a big ????. Neither of the walk-ons (Knopf and Price) have impressed. Could be the true freshman Fox, could be Farrimond, who knows! Cameron Decell (The former punter who has moved to WR), will be doing kickoffs.
LS:
Ty Carter
Malcomb

RE: Depth Chart?
Nice guess at depth chart EO18. I like seeing so many names with experience in the 2 deep. Obviously that's not the case with the secondary, but everywhere else we seem to have some experience and depth. The O-line with Williams and Reue should be OK. It could be as good or better than the lines we've head the past couple of seasons, though it could take some time. the D-line is experienced. The linebackers look like the strength of this defense, I expect both Lyons and Ellerbee to play together eventually, they're too good. Add the incoming freshmen and some promising Redshirts and we look to have enough to work with to challenge for a conference title. Can guys like Mayden, Alaka, Wells, Hunt take it to another level? (btw is Connor Cella back? We should have a strong TE group). Can the Walter twins add something new? Who emerges as playmakers in the secondary? I'm confident that if Driphus stays healthy he'll put up numbers we haven't seen from him yet - 400/100 games like Chase Clement used to have. Davis and Dillard are both capable of 1,000 yard seasons. Our depth seems to improve every season. We have less NFL prospects it seems, than in past few years, but don't be so sure. Guys like Lyons, Ellerbee, Anderson, Parks, Mayden, Wells, Hunt, Mouchantaff, Reue, could all get looks if they continue to develop.

Hmm...
Why are TEs always so invisible?

Holders like to be listed too.

RE: Depth Chart?
Would like to see Banks starting at one of the corner spots to add some length to the secondary.

FS is a key position, a little concerned about having a player with no game experience on top there. But if he earns it so be it.

Not sure how I forgot TE... That could be one of the battles during fall camp... Hunt, Wells, and Cella have all shown flashes, but none have really separated themselves. If the Wagner game was tomorrow, I'd say Cella would be out there with the first team.

And I assume you're joking about holder, but Zach Wright is likely your guy there.

I prefer Wells as the holder. On second thought, change is good.

Yes I'm joking.

How is L Wright from Alaska doing? Also, any news of walkons or transfers?

RE: Depth Chart?
Thanks for the depth chart Excitedowl18! Martin has passed Stanley at Center on the depth charts? I said "Wow!" I have assumed that Stanley was the heir apparent so I was perplexed that they would allow Martin to continue to work at offense especially given how effective he was on defense.

And I really shouldn't do this but:

KAT:
Destri White - Sophomore
Espinosa - Senior
SS:
Cole Thomas - Sophomore
Nwakamma - Freshman
FS:
Ibe - Freshman
Fuhrman - Senior

Some of you will get what I just did there. Also kind of interesting to note: Caleb Williams will quietly be a 4 year starter at Right Tackle. And didn't Moondog say that the sky is the limit for Anderson? Kind of cool to see a potential position locked up for 4 years. Hopefully, we can get some offensive linemen into the NFL, although I think that Scott Mitchell is doing well in the CFL.
