RE: Academic Progress Rates
Some of the men's sports are below the national average. Men's basketball is probably understandable with all their transfers, but football, baseball and men's track especially aren't as high as normal??

RE: Academic Progress Rates
Since UH grads don't seem to like it when we don't talk about them, maybe we should go over and ask why their football is at 941, basketball at 946 and baseball at 953?

Actually, I think we all understand these relationships and I'm only joking. Their teams do far better than most of their students. I'd actually me far more interested in things like graduation rates than with merely APR. As I understand it, you can remain eligible without really ever coming that close to a degree and then withdraw for any of a variety of reasons (including guys like Thor or baseball players who turn pro)... and that is easier to do at large universities with lots and lots of lower level classes and numerous majors.

What I don't understand is the relatively low scores for their women's basketball and volleyball at 932 and 942. If you aren't using sports to get our degree, why are you there? It's not as if there are big 'pro' contracts out there waiting on you?? I only noticed this because a few years ago, I saw that their women's basketball team had a low GSR and I wanted to see if that had changed.

MyBB RE: Academic Progress Rates
from the USA Today story:

Division I football, basketball teams keep rising in NCAA APR

"But not all FBS programs hit the mark. For the fourth consecutive year, the University of Idaho football team fell short of the APR cutoff, earning an average of 896 in the newest data. New Orleans, Appalachian State, Lamar and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi were among men's basketball programs that didn't meet the 930 mark. Pending appeals, none of those teams will be eligible for postseason play in 2015-16.

Looks like WTW has fallen a long way from where he was at Rice in more ways than one.
