Sorry but teams with any kind of between the tackle running game will run the ball down our throats all game. We will have to outgun people...and that's all well and good, unless Kiel goes down again.

What is this BS you speak of? I do not think that any of us know what we have on the D Line till those that were held out of spring play. I will reserve my judgement till at least higher ground, and maybe not till we play Temple.

Personally, I am worried about Dts that get no push and undersized linebackers. This is a recipe for getting steamrolled. We should be fine at DE.

Yeah, it doesn't look too good at the moment. I'm hopeful someone like Kevin Mouhon can come in and be the type of player this year that the recruiting services felt like he would be, but we're going to rely on two guys who have never played D1 football to be heavy rotation players at DT (Allonce and Tongamoa) and LB (Minor and Kinard)...and that's extremely troublesome without having seen them play in person.

I liked what I saw out of Tongamoa and Kinard does have good size but troubled nonetheless.

Tongamoa definitely has one heck of an engine, I'm still just reserved on how big of an impact that the defensive JUCOs will make, especially because we are relying on them pretty heavily this year.

Speaking of JUCOs Lyndon Johnson will be in the mix at DT as well. My thoughts in the DT position is we will not have a stud but we have a lot of bodies in the rotation. That is not exactly a bad thing. A strong rotation will ensure guys will have their legs under them in the fourth quarter.

Frankly, I am more worried about our production at DE than at DT. Hopefully Silverberry performs more in line from two years ago as opposed to last season. On the other side Mark Wilson is untested and the guys after that are even less proven (Landon Brazille, K. Mohoun).

Pretty sure he's going to be an ILB, but I could be wrong. But I see your point, here are our DE's this year...pretty not good. Only two people who have stepped foot on a college football field. Could we see a lot of offset or strong fronts (3 DTs and one DE) or 3-4 with Silverberry playing a standup end? It really is impressive how poorly CBJ recruited the DL, we're completely behind the 8-ball this year there

Silverberry Mouhon 6-4 252 SR-3L Norcross, Ga./Norcross
Tyler Lyon 6-3 200 FR-RS Newport, Ky./Newport Catholic
Caleb Ashworth 6-3 235 FR-HS Dry Fork, Va./Tunstall
Landon Brazile 6-6 230 FR-RS Dayton, Ohio/Thurgood Marshall
Marquise Copeland 6-3 230 FR-HS Bedford, Ohio/Bedford
Mark Wilson 6-3 225 SO-1L Hampton, Va./Phoebus
Lyndon Johnson 6-6 270 JR-JC West Point, Miss./West Point/Holmes CC
Kimoni Fitz 6-4 230 FR-RS Ringgold, Va./Dan River
Bryan Wright 6-4 235 FR-HS New Castle, Del./Jireh Prep

I do not think that Brazille is any where near ready. He is not a power rusher, and to me he was slow off the ball in the spring game. I like Wilson a lot, and I figure that Fitz and others are serviceable; however, now looking at the roster, I see your point.

When asked last week which player did he think was gonna surprise a lot of people, Prunty said Landon Brazile.

I will give him this, the kid put on 30lbs in a year...he's at least been working his tail off in the weight room.

I hope so. I certainly am no college coach, and I only have the spring game to reference, but I do not know whether to be happy or worried by this statement.

Well, we need some of these defensive guys in the first 3 classes who are still here to make an impact.
