@thecajasonsmith: Memphis to release nonconference sked today. Includes Oklahoma, Ole Miss, La Tech, Southern Miss (home opener), Manhattan. Story coming.

Southern Miss will make some folks really happy and make some folks really angry.

I think I'd rather play them at home than play at LSU next season.

I'm just glad we are starting the season at the same time as everyone else.

Not a great schedule from a casual observer.

Like with Ok State, Ou will be a REALLY good team, but from a ticket buying perspective, they won't carry the cache of an average person just dying to buy a ticket to get into the building. USM and Manhattan...if they are being propped up a games to entice ticket holders then woof. USM was 9-20 last year, has the NCAA in their business and lost three of their top scorers. Manhattan finished third in their conference last year and loses their leading scorer/rebounder.

Ole Miss is a nice regional game, but they are going to be pretty down this year and I wouldn't expect a lot of OM fans (mean 1-2K) to come to the game.

There's not really much the coach or AD can do, but I will cringe a little over the next few months when I'm told by the staff how awesome the home OOC schedule is and Manhattan, OM and USM are used as examples.

Just curious, how often do you just choose to see the negative side of my posts.

See the bolded part above. I understand the practical issues. I also remember seasons in which fans could truly be excited about SEVERAL games a year in the ooc.

I gather so. Pastner was looking for a replacement for the LSU game.

I'm upset just because USM might be lucky to win 6 games next year. Talk about an RPI anchor.

That's a great game. Hopefully Frank Martin will do something 'over the top' and we'll have a great, longlasting memory.

Big layoff between IUPUI and South Carolina. Wonder if a conference match will be slotted in there.

I'd love to see a football/basketball home and home with San Diego State.

I love the USC addition because I live in Charleston and I get to watch Memphis and only drive an hour 15 for the first time in my life.... And Where did the Gonzaga game go, thought we signed a 4 year deal with them and were 2 years in?
