As you will probably hear at least twice each inning if you watch the game tonight, Virginia is trying to become the first ACC team to win the College World Series in 60 years. Wake Forest won it in 1955. Miami won the CWS four times before joining the ACC.

Andrew Benintendi of Arkansas wins the 2015 Golden Spikes Award. It's baseball's equivalent of the Heisman.

Virginia shut out Vanderbilt 3-0 to force a deciding game 3 for the national championship. It was just the second time this season that Vanderbilt did not score a run

Yeah, Vandy committed a very costly error in the 6th, which set up VA's three runs.

I've thought all along that the Cavs would win the title. We will find out tonight.

Fewest number of overall wins for a national champ since 1968.

Third NCAA title for Virginia sports this school year (men's soccer and men's tennis were the other two).

And, yes, first CWS winner from the ACC since 1955.

Not bad for a program that not so long ago was recommended to go non-scholarship in the face of massive budget cuts.
