NCAA Division 1 Baseball Championship Thread - 2015
Since we have a thread for lacrosse, we might as well have one for baseball.
The field for the 2015 NCAA Baseball Tournament will be announced tomorrow (May 25th). The 16 regional hosts were announced today:

• Baton Rouge, La. – LSU (48-10)

• Champaign, Ill. – Illinois (47-8-1)

• College Station, Texas – Texas A&M (45-11)

• Coral Gables, Fla. – Miami (Fla.) (44-14)

• Dallas, Texas – Dallas Baptist (43-13)

• Fort Worth, Texas – TCU (43-11)

• Fullerton, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton (34-22)

• Gainesville, Fla. – Florida (44-16)

• Houston, Texas – Houston (42-18)

• Lake Elsinore, Calif. – UC Santa Barbara (40-15-1)

• Los Angeles, Calif. – UCLA (42-14)

• Louisville, Ky. – Louisville (43-16)

• Nashville, Tenn. – Vanderbilt (42-19)

• Springfield, Mo. – Missouri State (45-10)

• Stillwater, Okla. – Oklahoma State (37-18)

• Tallahassee, Fla. – Florida State (41-19)

Note: UC Santa Barbara is the designated host in Lake Elsinore, 180 miles or so away, because their stadium doesn't have adequate capacity or concessions, and has no lights.

When does the entire field get announced?

Dallas Baptist and Missouri St as hosts are quite the coup for the MVC. Fullerton and UCSB are perennial powers, but still good for the Big West.

The remaining at-large teams, top-eight national seeds, first-round regional pairings and site assignments will be announced at Noon ET on Monday, May 25. The one-hour program will be shown live on ESPNU. The committee will set the entire 64-team bracket through both the super regionals and the first round of the Men’s College World Series, and will not reseed the field after play begins.

Selection of the eight super regional hosts will be announced on NCAA.com on Monday, June 1 at approximately 11 p.m. ET.

Dallas Baptist and Missouri State absolutely deserved to host a regional. Whether or not they will both be national seeds, we'll soon find out.

Sadly, Texas Tech will not be a part of this. Lots of hope for my team that made it to the CWS last year. Big 12 RPI sucks and Texas won the Big 12 tourney. TCU, UT and Oklahoma St have to rep the Big 12 this year.

Here's hoping the B1G lands somewhere between 5-8 bids this year. Never had more than 3 as a conference before so this year should set a record for the snow bird baseball conference.

Michigan poached a bid by winning the Big Ten tournament. They were not getting in without it

Hasn't the Big 12 been a traditionally great baseball league? Why the down year? TCU is legit however. Oklahoma St is good as well

Worth checking out for anyone who wants to watch the NCAA baseball tournament:

ESPN has a "ESPN Bases Loaded" channel for the tournament that will jump around from game to game between the 16 tournament sites this weekend. It's channel 1613 on U-Verse, 615 on DirecTV, 403 on Dish. On cable systems it's the same channel number they use for "Goal Line" during college football season.

How about Cal's regional? Texas A&M, Texas Southern and Coastal Carolina.

Pretty tough because Cal has to pull a mild upset over Coastal tomorrow and even if they do, A&M will have their #1 starter waiting on Saturday evening.

Realistically this is A&M's regional to lose, and the Bears are looking at 1-2 or 2-2 this weekend. Cal's pitching will have to be lights-out to improve on that.

I see the pundits are doubting UCSB -- here's an example -- hopefully they can prove 'em wrong.
