I just wish there was some consistency with the placing of teams. I'm fine with Rice coming to UH as a #2 seed, but in a similar situation last year, UH got shipped to Baton Rouge rather than staying home in its own bed. I think that somewhat diminishes home field advantage when the opponent doesn't have to travel.

For me I would like to see some variation in where Regionals winners are sent. It is all too easy to send a Houston Regional (either at Rice or UH) winner always to LSU. The travel limit thinking was in response to gas prices supposedly. Let's see the UH Regional winner sent to Champaign-Urbana or somewhere else. The committee tends to produce similar Super matchups all too often.

I know what the sips' RPI is but I have also followed their efforts to keep Augie in Austin and I gotta say, they would be an incredibly dangerous 4 seed -- Parker French is not who you want to be facing on the mound in a 1 v. 4 game -- DBU should be righteously peeved if that happens to them (and I speak well of the yellow bellies despite hating them as much as anyone here -- I have had to live with them since '74

Agreed. I really think the committee oughta do a better job of seeding teams beyond just the top eight. Are travel costs really that prohibitive?
