Damn. Anymore info- name; transfer, juco, or freshman? It's hard to keep from constantly checking this board since there is new information every few hours. While this sounds great, we still need a little more size. Not sure if it was you, or B. Mitchell, that mentioned the big transfer from Wake Forest. Anything new on that? Do you think there may be another player or two leaving since we are loading up on guards?

You never know who might be going and who might be staying. I don't know when the roster will be final, but I would imagine there is still some nervousness among some of the returnees with all the signings, and the supposed quality of the signings.

I heard Coach Beard say that next year's team would be "about" half new players and half returning players. If that is literally accurate than our 6 remaining returnees should be okay. But the term "about" leaves plenty of wiggle room. Like any new coach, I'm sure he would prefer to have "his" guys. Still I'm sure he won't mind keeping a few talented returnees as long as their attitude is good and they are open to learning a new system.

The sr transfers can pull out at anytime. So the guard from fl does not have a binding letter.

The Wake Forest kid will decide between us and Rice in the next few days, and we are looking at another 6"10 kid also.

He is from Texas and Rice is a super academic school with a tuition of 50K or more. I do have a lot of confidence in Coach Beard and he might make the difference.

Yes, he would be a senior transfer. Eligible immediately for one year.

I'm definitely going to be forced to buy at least one program this year. Every day a new player is signed. Pick up games this summer should really be interesting.

I buy the program to check the opponents players, not the Trojans. Plus I assume the money goes to the volleyball team since they sell the programs. I'm sure they need the money. And they're cheap, only one dollar each. A double header will cost you two bucks.

That's why I hope they put the names in the backs of the jerseys. So much easier to recognize new guys that way.

Another great Guard coming.............
Carrollton Newman Smith boys basketball coach Percy Johnson said in an email Thursday that 6-2 senior guard Deondre Burns signed with Arkansas-Little Rock. Burns tied for first in scoring among Dallas-area Class 5A players, averaging 23.9 points per game this past season.
