ESPN will be next....

ESPN is not going to care about a kid transferring from a MAC school without ever having seen the field. The buzz surrounding this kid from a year ago is long gone and it's doubtful he'll ever recover it.

This man just said I was only a step down from ESPN. I've made it!

Hahahaha!

We have enough Florida success stories. I'm sure the true story will get down to the FL high schools. Just have to assume that Carey and co made the right call if they pushed them out

Illinois has great Athletes 2, time to invest in our own back yard.

We do. If you want to continue to be good, you have to continue recruiting the south hard.

Oh god, that's great. IF he ever sees the field, it will be a great joy watching Tears burn him. But I doubt Hallmon plays, especially now that he has to sit out another year, but this time in Michigan. Like he didn't hate his life enough sitting out a year in DeKalb.

It reminds me of when Tommy Davis transferred to U of I. Can't get on the field here, so they go somewhere they can.

In all fairness, Davis' situation was much different. Tommy had gotten his degree at NIU the spring before he transferred, he was going to graduate school, and he was behind Ward and Durante on the depth chart at safety. I completely understand and respect that kind of decision.

It also reminds me of Anthony Maddie transferring to NIU because he was second string at WMU

You're getting a guy who was 4th on NIU's depth chart amongst true freshmen DBs last year. You can have him.

Highly recruited DB who couldn't see the field in a year when 3 other true freshmen corners saw playing time.

Upside has to be better than a backup QB. Worst case scenario he's buried on the depth chart...same as Maddie

There is NOTHING wrong or bad about not being as good as other players, but when you're a FR and *****ing about the Coaches and playing time that is just TOO much for me. Who knows how good he'll be wherever he goes, but I will guarantee you he will not play if he continues to whine & ***ch.

At the moment, Maddie's the backup QB. Given the attrition that can happen at the QB position, and the fact that in NIU's offense, the backup will play every once in a while, I'd hardly call him buried.

The issue with Hallmon was that he couldn't see the field in a year when NIU played 3 other true freshmen CBs. Given that information, and the fact that NIU only loses 1 CB in each of the next two seasons, unless he took a huge step forward, he probably wasn't going to see much time going forward.

Also, Maddie & Hallmon transfers aren't comparing apples to apples. Maddie was recruited by Cubit's staff and left after Fleck became HC. Hallmon was a Carey recruit.

RE: Deion Hallmon To Transfer
Hallmon wasn't 4th on NIUs CB depth chart, he was 4th on NIUs TRUE FRESHMAN CB depth chart.

The CB depth chart last year was:
Logan (JR)
Brooks (SO)
Smalls (FR)
Olootu (FR)
Lurry (FR)

He would have been at best 6th on NIU's depth chart this year. He likely would have never seen the field in DeKalb. Maddie would probably have been WMU's starting QB in 2013 after TVT got hurt if he stayed around. Apples to oranges.

Too bad you couldn't get David Senior, too. I heard he's a big MAC fan. Yeah, I was told that he confessed his love for Bowling Green, but I'm sure PJ would have quickly converted him.

I believe in the Big Ten if you transfer to another Big Ten school you can't get a ride.
