Their body of work has obviously overcome that weak SOS to produce a comparable RPI, so stressing on their SOS doesn't make any sense.
They just lost yesterday to #169 RPI, #188 SOS Holy Cross...our loss this week (while ugly, pitiful, you name it) was at least to a top 60 school.
I'm just really confused..are we acting like this Holy Cross game didn't happen?
I'm not acting like anything regarding the Holy Cross game (I wasn't even aware of it), I was just pointing out the fact that you can't belittle a team who has a similar RPI as you by their SOS, whenever SOS is already strongly factored into RPI.
Obviously UConn has done something elsewhere apart from their weak SOS to produce a similar RPI to ECU, so I could just as easily locate the weaknesses of ECU's resume, otherwise ECU would be much higher in the RPI than UConn, given their vastly superior SOS.
That's the beauty of the RPI, it does a pretty good job factoring everything down to 1 number.
It's actually really interesting...I mean we've got 2 sub-100 RPI losses, they've got 5, including 2 sub 200's. I think that the AAC has really helped UConn this season. I don't know enough about the formula.

Another reality----with so many top 50 teams in the conference---those numbers will be shifting until the end of the season. Worse part of it---with so many top 50 teams in conference, someone is going to get screwed because of this stat. Wins and losses inside of a conference is a zero sum game.
*As of 4/27* this bracketology has four AAC schools in --- Houston, USF, Memphis, and UConn. I'm sure Tulane, after last night's top 50 win is also either in or very close.

Sorry, but UConn will not get in over ECU at this point, a better record, better RPI and much higher SOS. Nearly every metric is better, sorry.
Yeah, we'll take care of that this weekend.
We took the series up at your place, now you are coming to the the jungle.

Notice he said "took the series" and not "swept the series." With two games still to play he can still be correct.
