A "MAC dominating" team that lost to CMU by 17 and beat Kent by 3, Miami by 10, EMU by 11...and got totally exposed in their bowl game. NIU are top dawgs for now, but let's not pretend that they are in a tier above the rest of the MAC. And they're certainly not 50 spots better than WMU, as this list indicates.
38-2 MAC regular season the last five years. What's your definition?

Well, my definition certainly would not include getting *****-slapped by CMU in Huskie stadium.

The same CMU team that WMU dominated in Mount Pleasant.

The tide is changing.

Deal with it.

NIU cannot count on dumb luck two years straight.

UT forced to play a WR at QB; dumb luck.

Franklin fumbling on the goal line; dumb luck.

The Huskies have earned the respect they are getting with their number 29 ranking. I will agree it seems pretty high, but there is no reason to be all pissy about it. It's just a preseason ranking.

Talk is all you can do. The results speak for themselves. Plain and simple.

All I see is a bunch of whining and excuses.

NIU fans have earned the right to thump their chests a bit. Regardless of whether some of those games were squeakers or "lucky" or whatnot, their MAC record the last several years is what it is.

RE: Orlando Sentinel's Preseason College FB Countdown
There were 56 teams that received at least one point in Pre-Season Coaches' Poll.

Fifteen teams that are in SENTINEL's top 56 (so far) did not get a single vote in Coaches':

Iowa, NIU, BG, WKU, Navy, San Diego State, Toledo, UL-Lafayette, Memphis, UTEP, Cal, Rice, Ball State, Middle Tennessee, and Appalachian State.

Not that Coaches' is totally credible: Illinois received seven points. Maybe somebody confused Huskies with Illini.

True.

Here is a list of the completely biased voters, who are completely busy focusing on their own HOW to pay requisite attention to the details of every school:

The Amway Board of Coaches is made up of 64 head coaches at Bowl Subdivision schools. All are members of the American Football Coaches Association. The board for the 2015 season: Dino Babers, Bowling Green; David Bailiff, Rice; Frank Beamer, Virginia Tech; Craig Bohl, Wyoming; Terry Bowden, Akron; Art Briles, Baylor; Troy Calhoun, Air Force; Matt Campbell, Toledo; Rod Carey, Northern Illinois; Norm Chow, Hawaii; Paul Chryst, Wisconsin; Larry Coker, Texas-San Antonio; David Cutcliffe, Duke; Mark Dantonio, Michigan State; Tim DeRuyter, Fresno State; Bob Diaco, Connecticut; Larry Fedora, North Carolina; Jimbo Fisher, Florida State; Kyle Flood, Rutgers; Dennis Franchione, Texas State; James Franklin, Penn State; Willie Fritz, Georgia Southern; Al Golden, Miami; Todd Graham, Arizona State; Mike Gundy, Oklahoma State; Jim Harbaugh, Michigan; Mark Helfrich, Oregon; Doc Holliday, Marshall; Mark Hudspeth, Louisiana-Lafayette; Paul Johnson, Georgia Tech; Joey Jones, South Alabama; Brian Kelly, Notre Dame; Brad Lambert, Charlotte; Lance Leipold, Buffalo; Rocky Long, San Diego State; Mike MacIntyre, Colorado; Gus Malzahn, Auburn; Doug Martin, New Mexico State; Dan McCarney, North Texas; Ruffin McNeill, East Carolina; Bronco Mendenhall, Brigham Young; Urban Meyer, Ohio State; Les Miles, LSU; Phillip Montgomery, Tulsa; Jim Mora, UCLA; Ken Niumatalolo, Navy; George O'Leary, Central Florida; Gary Patterson, TCU; Chris Petersen, Washington; Paul Petrino, Idaho; Gary Pinkel, Missouri; Paul Rhoads, Iowa State; Mark Richt, Georgia; Mike Riley, Nebraska; Nick Saban, Alabama; Frank Solich, Ohio; Steve Spurrier, South Carolina; Rick Stockstill, Middle Tennessee State; Bob Stoops, Oklahoma; Kevin Sumlin, Texas A&M; Dabo Swinney, Clemson; Tommy Tuberville, Cincinnati; Matt Wells, Utah State; Kyle Whittingham, Utah

Hah. Auburn has been picked to win SEC and in Top Five nationally by some predictors.

SENTINEL writer seems to be contrarian on purpose.

Used to be many coaches had their SIDs do the voting for them. AFCA tried to put a stop to that practice, don't know if-how well that worked.

RE: Orlando Sentinel's Preseason College FB Countdown
This Pre-Season Ranking is pretty generous to G5s. Wanna know what's historically been NOT fair at all to G5s? Collegefootballnews.com. Here's some of their 128-team ranking to put things in perspective with a focus on G5 teams in the upper-area (bold being highest-ranked in conference):

#127. EMU
#121. Miami-OH
#112. UMass
#110. Kent State
#109. Akron
#100. Ball State
#99. Buffalo
#96. CMU
#89. Arkansas State
#88. Ohio
#87. Georgia-Southern (8-4)
#86. Memphis
#84. BGSU
#84. Navy
#82. East Carolina
#81. UCF
#79. LA-Tech
#77. Air Force
#76. Northern Illinois
#75. Toledo
#74. Western Kentucky
#72. Western Michigan (8-4)
#71. Houston
#66. Wake Forrest
#65. Marshall (10-2)
#64. Illinois
#62. Indiana
#61. Cincinnati (9-3)
#52. Colorado State
#50. Northwestern
#49. San Diego State
#46. BYU
#40. Boise State (11-1)
#36. Michigan
#33. Miami-FL
#32. Penn State

No G5 Conference-best-ranked cracks past the Top 40. To them, Marshall at 10-2 is roughly as good as Wake Forrest, and no G5 team is better than Michigan, and only 4 or 5 are better than Indiana. LOL.
