Western Kentucky Baseball Tid Bits
No preview this week, but here's the WKU game notes for the series...

http://www.wkusports.com/sports/m-basebl...15aaa.html

Note that Jordan Stephens has moved into his customary Friday night slot, with McCanna now scheduled to start on Saturday. We go against back-to-back left-handers, with Hartman (who has recently moved into the weekend starter role) the only starting pitcher with an ERA under 4.00 and BAA under .300.

As I mentioned in another thread, they have a solid hitting team with good power (.282/.356/.430, 34 HRs, 5.6 runs/game), but their pitching is awful (4.64 ERA, .274 BAA, 1.7 K:BB ratio, 1.6 WHIP). Their relievers are better than their starters. They have won five of their last 6 games, including this week's midweek road upset over #8 Louisville. They've also taken a pair from Kentucky and two road games with Mississippi State. Here's their schedule and results to date...

They have 4 regulars hitting over .300, but only one guy, who is probably the leading candidate for CUSA POY, who we cannot let beat us: Anderson Miller (.341/.467/.689, 11 HRs, 11 doubles/triples, 29 RBIs, 32 BBs).

They appear to have four quality relievers, but Hartman is their only quality starter.

Here are their individual and team stats...

Just noticed that we play a doubleheader tomorrow at 3 and 6 pm, with a single game Sunday.

80% chance of thunderstorms on Saturday. They want to get two games in on Friday rather than taking a chance on Saturday.

Looks like the team is stuck in an elevator

Still on the elevator

No better team bonding than being stuck in an elevator with 14 teammates.

Yep. The schedule change is due to predictions of unique "inclimate" (sic) weather on Saturday.

Enough with the weather, did the Owls get out of the elevator?

...and did the entire team finish their term papers and semester-ending deadlines in time to catch the team flight yesterday?
