RE: 2016 football commits
I do not recall getting really good commitments at this early point in the year before Withers. I am not hating on MM or any prior coach. I admit in advance that I could be wrong but this seems early in the 2016 process for us.

You're right HH&C. The previous staff did recruit early like this but they rarely got any commitments at this point. Verbals are always verbals whether it's JMU or LSU but I think it's a good sign.

I think its the Twitter and Facebook posta that are making these Verbal commitments notable. Its really a "new era" when it comes to how the internet is updates info on program min by min. They had their fair share of "verbals".

I was counting on you for some insight. We just never really heard about verbals until late in the process. The young crowd seemd to text, tweet, instagram and facebook a ton about their lives. My life between 18-22 was not that interesting to discuss even if we had social media in the late '70s and early '80s.

I quoted verbals because they would tell the staff , yes I am coming and then the next week be committed somewhere else. I never understood that, but people that age tend to till older ppl what they want to hear in the moment.

Have you taken a look at what some of these young'uns put out there for all to see, nothing there. If they'd put the phone down and get outside, they might see there really is a lot to see and do.

Sounds familiar. Wasn't that the case with Lander or Thorpe (or both)? Might explain the only other offer as Fordham if he is telling the I-A schools he only wants to play QB...

I'm thinking a FBS school will tell him he will be a QB and get him to sign.

Yeah. 2 big IFs. If he remains committed to JMU and if he signs, IF he remains at QB.

The difference between him and Landers are the size and speed ratio. I would assume Landers would be a little more easoer to pass on.
