I don't know what the difference is, but it seems that there are 2 different "levels" of college cheer and dance. Our teams are in NCA and NDA, but I remember seeing earlier this year that other CAA teams already competed in their national championships, which I think where UCA and UDA. I'm confused about that as well.

Smaller schools apparently. Last year, cheer was in the Small Coed 1 league, and here is the link to last year's Dukettes competition. Still impressive though.

We are definitely in the FCS of Dance and Cheer. The P5 schools compete in Division IA and we compete in Division I.

With back to back wins for the Dukettes, I'd expect them to move up, 3 more and we're the NDSU of Division I Dance.

crap - that link that CIS linked to was the 2015 (championship) routine. I haven't seen 2016 costumes... I'd be shocked to hear we wore maroon again!

We have the trophy that says "National Champions" .... It'll look great in the trophy case ... no one will care what organization awarded it ..... Division 1 snobs just need to give it a rest .... Congrats to the Dukettes ....

FYI - NDA is reverse of how we think of Divison 1 FBS/FCS

NDA Division 1 has the likes of JMU, UNH, Loyola Chicago, Sam Houston State, WCU, Weber State
NDA Division 1A has the likes of UTexas, OSU, WVU, Purdue, USC, Clemson, UNC-CH, UConn, etc.

edit: after winning Div 1 3 out of the last 4 years, I'd love to see us move up to Div 1A and compete with the big dogs.
