85...they beat Memphis St in the FF before taking down mighty Georgetown...they were also doing blow in the locker room during our game...we were only paying players...they uped the cheating game with drugs.

(Louisville won in 86)
The point still stands.

But not the accuracy...it's OK, I forgive you.

It was off the cuff, I remember it but I often get it and LSU's final four appearance as an 11 seed backwards. It comes with being too lazy to look it up.

Yes, Memphis almost pulled it off recently and back in the 70s as well. I was pulling for them even then and still like 'em except when they play MT in F'Ball or Baseball. BUT here is the great irony; when they got close both times they were SLAPPED down by the almighty NCAA! Same for Western Kentucky! Same for UMASS! Notice a Trend! No similar punishment has happened to UNC, or UCLA, or Michigan State, or Indiana. Mighty hard for the little fellas to fillout a championship squad without severe scrutiny!

The whole concept of power v. non-power conferences was non-existent back then. UTEP was independent in 1966 when they won it all. Memphis was in the national championship game in 1973 as the Missouri Valley champion. Louisville was the MVC champ in 72 and went to the final four.

Butler, VCU, Wichita State all have shown that there is a formula and it can be done, but it just hasn't
