Newcomers by year:

2009: 8
2010: 10
2011: 2
2012: 5
2013: 9
2014: 9 (7 if you don't count Pookie and Markel as "newcomers" again)
2015: 7(?)

Player turnover has been a topic of discussion & it should be, but CJP (for all his faults) has actually done a good job of replacing talent & numbers during his time here.

The issue is...lately it's been slipping. Since 2012 it's been (in my words) "Satisfactory" or "Unacceptable" 3 out of the last 4 years...

2009: Acceptable turnover rate

Lost - Tyreke (NBA), Matt Simpkins (dismissed), Taggart (pro), Dozier (grad), Anderson (grad)
Gained - Elliot Williams (transfer), Coleman, and Stephens.

The others were walk-ons so we had practice bodies after Cal left scorched earth. No one should/could blame CJP for 2009.

2010: Acceptable turnover rate

Lost - 4 walk-ons, Elliot Williams (NBA), Garcia (pro), Mack (grad), Kemp (grad), Sallie (transfer), and Niles (grad)
Gained - Jackson, Barton, Kendrick, Black, Barton, Crawford, Hipp

2011: Acceptable turnover rate

Lost - Will Coleman
Gained: Adonis, Stan Simpson, Ferrakahn

2012: Satisfactory turnover rate

Lost - Will Barton (NBA), Witherspoon (grad), Carmouche (transfer), Barham (transfer)
Gained: Shaq, Damien Wilson, Geron

2013: Acceptable turnover rate

Lost - A. Barton (transfer), Black (transfer), Hall (grad), Simpson (grad), Stephens (grad), Adonis (pro)
Gained - Dixon, Pellom, Crawford, Iverson, King, Nichols, Pookie, Big Dom

2014: Unacceptable turnover

Lost - Jackson (grad), Carwford (grad), Geron (grad), Dixon (grad), Pellom (grad), Big Dom (transfer), D. Wilson (transfer)
Gained - Woodson, Hawkins, Burrell, Magee, Godfrey

2015: Satisfactory turnover

Lost - Godfrey (grad), King (transfer), Pookie (transfer)
Gained - Lawsons, Broddie, TBD

Also, I don't count coaching turnover. Most guys that have left went on to become head coaches. That being said, I'd like to see him go about the hiring process differently (see Luke Walton/Jimmy Williams). However, he did hire Damon Stoudemire (like I originally suggested) and that was a really solid hire. Most people thought the same about Kirby and Aki too, but ...

It really matters, amigo.

Next year can't be THE year. We Joe Insiders have said so.

Last year was a horrible year after all. You're NOT ALLOWED to have a down year EVER.

I refuse to just sit back and enjoy the new guys and the Lawsons.

I'm sure the summer will give us Joe Insiders plenty of time to concoct new narratives for when the whole thing takes off.
Fixed it.
