RE: Geron Johnson backs Pastner on transfer news
I really like Nick King. I was proud of his development at the free throw line. I think with lots of minutes he'd have averaged 7 rebounds/game.

On the other hand, I lost count of the times Nick gave up an alley-oop because his head was turned the wrong way.

I can't blame him for wanting minutes. He's smart. Plus, I'll bet he's on path to graduate in three years, making him an even more attractive pickup for someone. I wish him nothing but the best.

Nick King a garbage man huh?

The same Nick King as a freshman on a loaded roster who scored at least 12pts and 5reb in his 1st 3 games of college basketball? Then saw his minutes decline?

And if King can't do this and can't do that and is not a 3......then why does Pastner put him in the game as a 3 and exploit his limitations?

How about you figure out what the kid does well and put him in the position to succeed?

Pookie didn't have the mindset we need at PG but yet he was opening day starter? SMH I guess Kedren has the right mindset?

Pastner doesn't know how to put players in position to succeed.

Lets face it, Nick King though he hustles is not better than Shaq or Nichols and cannot shoot from the outside or drive to the hoop, so he is not a 3. He wasnt going to beat anyone out this next season unless there is a injury. Pookie is a bust. High school PGs do not realize how difficult the transition to D1 is. Blame it on the coaxh, whatever, but it takes a couple of years. Pookies mindset is not what we need at PG. Unfortunately, we missed on Chiozza, bad decision. They both need to transfer out and we will not miss them at all. Nick King is a garbageman, I like his effort but he does not stretch the floor at all and is nowhere near as good as those around him believe. How many times did you ever see Nick King power the ball in? This is no loss and Pastner will benefit from the #s. We need a genuine PG.

We'll find out about King next year whether he was good or not. Other than rumors about his family complaining, King has never complained, kept his mouth shut and went to work. Defensively he was a liability but so was Woodson and Godfrey but they got plenty of mins.

As for Pookie, how was he any worse than out of shape Kedren? Pastner had a tight leash on him apparently and it's a disservice to the program that we didn't have a decent PG this past season and won't probably have one next season. Pookie played 416 mins vs Kedren's 634 mins and as a freshman, had 72 assists vs Kedren's 74 assists. Kedren was slightly better at protecting the ball as expected from a junior guard (both had 54 turnovers but Pookie had them in fewer mins played). In the last game where Pookie played 20 mins or more (mid January), he shot 50%, had 8 assists vs 1TO. There was no indication he was getting worse. He showed potential and was the more talented guard when compared to Kedren.

5 top 100 players transferred in 1 season.
An average of 7 players every season. My concern is there's no continuity; there will be plenty more turnover after the 2015-2016 season (graduation, Nichols possibly declaring and obviously transfers) and we'll probably bring in 8-9 new players again the season after. It'll be a decade before we have a realistic shot at a sweet 16 since our last appearance. Welcome to being irrelevant in the world of college basketball.

This is a clear case of a clueless flailing Whiners; AN AVERAGE OF 7 TRANSFERS PER SEASKON? THAT WOULD BE 42 TRANSFERS FOR PASTNER

You are embarrassing yourself; go back to Nintendo

It is probably an average of 7 players leaving the team per season (transfers, graduation, declaring for the draft, etc.)...

And ya, literally having half of your scholarship players transfer in one season is just "clueless flailing whining"... That's normal right? Nothing to see here.

I meant to type an average of 7 new players every season. It has been 8-9 the past 2 seasons and probably more of the same this upcoming season and next season. No continuity in the roster and no cohesion. This would have worked if we were a one and done destination. As of now, I highly doubt if we make the sweet 16 the next couple seasons. Sadly it seems it'll at least be a decade for a trip to the sweet 16 since our last one.
