Murray is very good. They can really shoot the ball. With Freeman, I'd really like our chances. Without him, it's a toss-up. We should be able to control the boards, but can we make enough shots, that's the question. A quick start seems to help us significantly. We need to find a way to get a few buckets early.

Murray State looks really good. Having said that, they have zero competition.

They beat #47 in rpi Tulsa
They beat #66 Illinois State
They beat #79 in rpi UTEP

Two, top 50 blowout losses to Xavier and Valpo.

With a healthy Freeman, I would be very confident we will win. Even without Trey, we will be favored and have good shot.

They have a good offense, but their defense is pretty bad. Its tough to win on the road without playing defense.

One thing we will have to focus on an do a better job is when the shot clock is going down, don't pass to Palmore. With the shortened clock, it's a bigger deal and it's certainly not the same as passing to Freeman to create.

Put a little Limburger Cheese on their tops and you can get the full effect.

I feel like that was happening due to the team being used to freeman. Props to Palmore though, he dealt with it pretty good, seeing how most of those passes were to spots out of his range.

It seems like the problem wasn't him starting, but when he came out they just couldn't keep it loose. He tried, but once he left the game that first time, he was fighting it when he went back in.

So, hopefully it's not the pain, just working to keep him loose. Maybe with another few days they can figure it out.

In hindsight I agree it would have been not to play him at all last night. He couldn't run full speed and his quickness was seriously impaired. It slowed down the whole offense. I hope the minutes he did play didn't aggravate the injury to the extent that he won't be able to play at close to 100% Wednesday. I had a couple of severe ankle sprains when I was in high school and they took a lot longer than a few days to heal. Maybe his is not that severe.

If Palmore starts and plays the way he did last night, I think we'll be fine. That was an inspiring performance he had last night. If he were also a shooter, he'd be every bit as good as Freeman. The kid's definitely got the moves.

Not much going on there, but there seems to be a lot of confidence that they are coming to Norfolk to take the Monarchs down...

They seem to think we're the cocky bunch.

Yeah Palmore is not the kind of person to take a jumper ever and only really drives when he needs to.

Interesting. I don't see anyone on here really taking shots at them. They played a soft schedule (that's a fact that they'd have to acknowledge). They are a very good offensive team. We are a very good defensive team and we're generally pretty good at dictating games to our pace. We're at home. We're pretty good at home. We're confident that we can hold our own, but I don't think any of us really believe that we're going to steamroll them or that we can't be beat. If they want to think any of those things make us cocky, so be it.

By the way, since I saw them questioning whether any of us watched their game last night, the answer, for most of us, is no. We were too busy attending our own game.

I saw part of their game, but I was tired and didn't watch it all. It's really not important that we watch the game, but that JJ watches the game.

I'm betting that he did and still is.

Yup. They also suck at predictions. They said we'd get housed by Illinois State.

RE: Murray St. comes to the Ted
I think we win. They are not that tall rangy (lengthy) team that gives us fits. In fact size wise, except for Farrell being a wide bodied 265, they are not any bigger (nor taller overall) than us. No fan momentum to help them keep it going if they are able to get a run going. They do shoot the ball very well but we play defense pretty darn good ourselves so we will see there. We have solid depth, are not on the road, not traveling across half the country which all helps. In addition I think we will probably have our best crowd/fan support, raise the roof level, for this game. Finally, we do have the whole "Defend the Ted" win streak going. I don't see any way Freeman will be back (maybe another Trojan horse appearance) but if I am wrong about that I would feel even better about our chances. All-in-all I think we win but it will be another dog fight with home court making the difference. As Coach Wilder says, "Be LOUD and Proud!"

not to be a debbie downer but I seriously doubt he'll be close to 100 percent on Wednesday...if it's that sore after day 3, it's unlikely day 4 will result in semi-miraculous healing (especially after playing on it in day 3)...

Nope, but I have a hunch it will be close. With luck, very close...

I think it'll be close to a sell out. If they rain 3's and shoot 60%+ we lose. We have to get out in their face and dictate the pace. Sounds like duh stuff to me but we can't let them get hot from 3 or we're doomed.

I really wish Trey was fully healthy, as I'd love to see him match-up with their PG, Cameron Payne. Payne is just a sophomore, but he's a kid that could leave this year and be a 1st round draft pick. You don't see that too often at the mid-major level.

We need Aaron to be the offensive nightmare that he was against VCU in this one. Maybe he'll see yellow and go for blood?
