Coach White will be conducting a shooting clinic this summer in Ruston and I hope that all our fellow CUSA members can send as many players and coaches as possible

16-4 in conference with poor shooters ... kind of amazing... or maybe just a lousy conference?

White can't win when it counts and that is what matters the most. We shoot anything reasonable from 3 in regulation and we probably move on.

White himself said his goal was the NCAA's so you may want to ask him if he succeed this year.

Only 11 top 50 opponent games in 4 years does that to you.

Yep, we needed to win at Syracuse or NC State, or Temple but we lost all 3. We just are not good enough. We are a pretty good NIT team though... and I like all the banners in the TAC.

We just pick the wrong games to lose I guess. We had NCST beat late in the 2nd half and his coaching decisions really concerned me. That said if you are going to have guard centered team with smaller quicker players you need to be able to make some outside shots in big games to get W's.

The system isn't broke, its rigged. In 2011 Marshall went 24-10 made it to the CUSA finals, got beat by a team loaded with NBA talent (Memphis) had an RPI of 34 and didn't make the NCAA. And to beat it all we had the highest RPI of anyone that didn't make the NCAA and was still sent on the road to MTSU in the NIT.

Weren't you 21-13 after the CUSA tournament? Am I wrong on this? Still was a decently deserving marshall team that year.

We started at the bottom. White has done a tremendous job and I hope he sticks around for a little while longer.

Yup. They ended up 21-14 with the loss to MTSU in the first round of the NIT. They finished tied for fifth in CUSA at 9-7. They had some good wins (2 over NCAA at-large USM) and a good CUSA tournament run. But any non-power team entering the conference tournament at 18-12 has to win the tournament to make the dance.

So do I and really don't think he will have a bunch of offers lined up after this season but who knows

La Tech with a legit post threat would have been a much better team this year. Like top 15 good.

Kyser is a solid defender and a decent scorer for sure, but a big man that can have his way in the paint would have been the final piece for La Tech to have been a truly great team.

It all boils down to the draw in a conference tournament.

It takes a lot of breaks to win 3 games in 3 days.

I am sad we lost but I am glad we have won 100 games and three trips to the post season. We are building something in Ruston.

Good post and we could have been a really solid team with a solid scoring presence inside. Overall we were a better team last year and White doesn't have anyone recruited for next season to play inside.

Now go knock off another overrated SEC team on their home floor in NIT!

Coach White likes his guards. Lose 2 guards, bring in 3. I suppose it'll be Joniah White and Leo Edwards inside. Interesting I don't think joniah got on the court at all tonight.

Also, can't lose all three of the Marquee matchups we scheduled to Temple, Cuse, and NC State. Also can't lose to ULL and North Texas. If we either take out 2 quality wins or remove the two bad losses, we're an at-large selection.
