Well, looks like Slive is getting out of the way so that the big decision can be made. Nothing like a no name hire from within to be the "fall guy". It's pretty hard to hire someone to come in and do that.
Huh? Is it supposed to be obvious what big decision needs to be made?

Other than expanding by two. I don't see what big decision needs to be made. And heck, I would be good with Rice and Tulane as long as we can finally get the schedule balanced.

Slive is 74 and is beginning treatment for Prostate Cancer.
Sounds to me like it's a good time to retire.
The SEC certainly faired quite well under his watch.

I don't see the SEC expanding with second or third tier big 12 school's if that is what your thinking. Clearly, the sec would have interest in texas and OU, maybe KU but if those school's aren't joining than 0% any others get invited unless missouri left.

Sankey did a good job as commissioner of the Southland navigating a period of turmoil when it seemed the league might collapse. He was hired by Slive as the heir apparent.

Smart move. That way, you can wait for something momentous to happen and say that's what you were alluding to. Certainly helps the ol' batting average.

Really, that was stated that he was the heir apparent? Now, it makes sense that if you hired another commissioner to come in then somehow the commissioner position is tied into that otherwise he wouldn't take a step down. He would have taken a step down with the promise of a major step up in the future.

You are going to be so disappointed at what transpires! The guy stepping in will be fulfilling Slive's plans and then adding what he does best, management. By the way that will be all that is needed after what has been set up transpires. I might also add that if Maryland is your best prediction yet then you have grossly underachieved. The Big 10 swung for Virginia and North Carolina and added Rutgers and an economically strapped Maryland. That's makes you 1 for 3 years. Wow!? The SEC added 32 million viewers with Slive's last selections.

No, that is hardly an underachievement. No one else believed it would happen but I stuck to my guns on it. No one believed that Jim Harbaugh would go from the NFL back to the college ranks but one and only one poster here said that Harbaugh was absolutely ending up at Michigan. I said that weeks before most folks here were even able to wrap their puny heads around such a concept and that includes you JR.
In regards to Maryland, it was held underground with Non-Disclosure and yet, I knew.
My talks about Virginia and North Carolina were always premised with the acknowledgement that the ONLY way it could have happened was with a move to 20 teams. That is tacit acknowledgement that it is not a done deal so for you to try and falsely claim otherwise just goes to show how far behind me you are falling and how desperate you are. You and your "new scenario every week" perspective? Get out of here. You say so much **** that counters other **** you have said that nothing you say can even be remembered. Learn to stick to your guns and then you can come at me like that.
As far as what that guys does for the SEC? I could honestly not care less about what he actually does in the position. All I was talking about was what would have led up to him getting the spot right now due to Slive leaving his position right now. The fact that such an obvious point was still above your head, well that saddens me.
You are either becoming very slow at this or you are simply becoming a liar in your attempts to come at me.

Sankey has gotten his position by being privy to what Slive wants to do and by accomplishing what he is best at, management of what has already transpired. There was little change in the SEC vision from Kramer to Slive an there will be little change in the vision from Slive to Sankey. It will be as it has been. As I've said before I just examine all aspects which sometimes are contradictory, but I claim to have no magic mirror in which to prognosticate the future. You however are on record for your predictions and if you are correct I'll give you credit, but if you are wrong I'll remind you of it. That's the price you pay for making predictions instead of evaluating options. But that's also the potential reward you can get for putting it out there. We'll see.

Now that is to be expected and respected. I wouldn't have come forward though if I didn't think it was pretty safe for me to. As the other said, I didn't bother giving details because....the details aren't decided yet. I have been very clear about what is to come and it should be assumed by those of you that have paid enough attention that such is the subject I am alluding to.
