A waste of money in my opinion. Pay to play.

We don't have the money it cost 10k last year, it just a show off tournament truely meaningless.

Not meaningless. It allows you to practice as a team for an extra 1-2 weeks or more. That time is worth the money. It will be extremely beneficial to the young guys on the roster like Bond, Alvano, Nobles, and even Lee. More games and more practice =a better program long term.
That is how programs improve, they get the extra games and practice every year and it adds up.

EMU may not host a game, but still could get an invite. Postseason tournaments do matter, and serve as a reward for the players. With a 20-win season, they've earned it.

Almost half the team wouldn't even be here next year!

RE: emu vs toledo
Just as a side note.. Last year's CIT(a meaningless tourney right?) championship game consisted of Murray State who won 25 in a row and made the Ohio Valley finals and will be going to the NIT and Yale, who was 1 play away from making the NCAA's and still could by beating Harvard on Saturday. Seems like they're doing alright after partaking in that tourney last year.
Sure there are exceptions.. Minnesota won the NIT last year and it didn't work out. However I think any opportunity for extra practice and extra experience can only help this team for the future.
I guess based on what I'm reading.. If we ever deserve to go to a bowl game we should decline that opportunity unless it's a BCS bowl. Rose bowl or bust! Why reward our student athletes when instead we can complain about attendance and have others mock us for lack of attendance. That's a great thing to be proud of!
To each their own though. Yes I know the CBI isn't anything to go around parading to the world.. However getting a chance to play a quality opponent in the post season is a good thing. After all, I've heard complaints about scheduling.. Well, here's a chance to play a school with a similar record than us. What honestly is the harm?

So we shouldn't partake in a postseason tournament because we have bad roads on campus? This isn't the right medium to discuss campus renovations.

The physical plant and athletics department have entirely different budgets, entirely independent of each either. Non-sequitur.

Yes it is! To say they have different budgets is only a technically. The building and infrastructure is run by the physical plant no repair work can be done without the physical plant being involved. So to pay for any tournament the money comes from somewhere and i already know heather has blown through her budget.
