Grizz play pretty solid in first half and lead 50-38. Lead was up to 18 a couple of times but I'll take 12 at the half. Sounds like a pretty good contingent of Grizz fans made the trip down I-55 for this game tonight.

I'm ok with this choke. OKC fans are probably pissed.

There is nothing ok with this loss nothing at all. This mentality that this team gets against teams like this is ridiculous and why they have never been able to set themselves up in a good position for the playoffs.

It's funny to hear people still say this team can win a championship, yet they are losing games like this while Golden State is beating just about everyone they play.

This team just doesn't learn their lessons. You would think the Minnesota loss would've taught them, or the sacramento loss, or the game last night, maybe after tonight it will finally sink in.

I really thought that Wednesday was a turn the corner type game and win. Guess I was wrong.

Is it just a lack of discipline ? I can't believe it's a lack of mental toughness.

Portland lost to Minnesota and Atlanta lost to Philly tonight. Denver giving Houston all they can a handle at the moment. Bad teams can beat good teams on any night. What can you do in a best of 7?

I agree with that but this is a constant thing with this team. People wonder why guys like Mike, Zach, and Marc are worn out come the playoffs is because they do it to themselves by playing like crap against crap teams.

If this was just a once in a while type thing it wouldn't be a big deal, but it's not.

True

However, playoff position is of huge importance

Need home court adv

Gotta beat these lower level teams

Yet they are still the #2 seed in the West and the Pelicans gained ground on the Thunder by winning. Maybe it's not as big a problem as we think, and maybe the Grizz have things more in control than some of the cliff jumpers think they do.

Matt Moore was on the Gary Parrish show and Parrish asked him about the Grizzlies. He said that a lot of teams play quite poorly this time of year and wasn't really anything to be concerned about. It was a matter of conserving energy for the playoffs. Grizz have played poorly since the break. Our lead over the 3 seed has gone down a little but we are still a 2 seed. This is certainly the most brutal part of their closing schedule as well. 4 of our last 9 games were back to backs on the road. Funny but this was our first loss of those back to backs. 9 games in 12 days is beyond crazy.

I agree. Sometimes folks start looking for a cliff to jump off when really they just need a cool refreshment. At the same time, how does an NBA team go over 8 minutes without a field goal? 03-lmfao

Playing four games in five nights and nine games in 14 nights taxes a team. There is no reason to panic, yet.

Again if this was a once in a while type thing it wouldn't be a big deal, but it's not. It's year after year and game after game against teams that the Grizz have no business losing to.

Yea see the key word that most of you keep saying is "right now" Yea right now they are the 2 seed they keep taking these sub .500 teams lightly they won't be the 2 seed.

Blowing an 18 pt lead and a 12pt lead in the second half is inexcusable for a team that wants to position itself for a good playoff run. It's a game like last night that can hurt that positioning. This team will not hold on to that 2 seed playing the way they are right now

I'd almost rather the Grizzlies enter the playoffs as the 3rd seed. Maybe they don't want to play OKC or San Antonio in the first round. Can't blame them.

I do, however, think Lee or Green need to come off the bench. Tony needs to start. We don't want the opposing team's star getting easy baskets in the 1st before Tony can come into the game.

San Antonio is currently the 6 seed so if we drop to 3rd we would play them. Way to early to really think about seeding.

Currently we have a winning record against every team 1-8 except Houston which we are 2-2. New Orleans, no. 9 we have a losing record with.

1. Golden State 1-0 (one game to play)
3. Houston 2-2
4. Portland 3-0 (one game to play)
5. Clippers 2-1 (one game to play)
6. San Antonio 2-1 (one game to play)
7. Dallas 2-1 (one game to play)
8. OKC 2-1 (one game to play)
9. New Orleans 1-2 (one game to play)

My bad. We have 2 games left with them, 3 total. One is here at FEF on March 27 and the other is April 13 (2nd to last game) at GS.

Bumping this thread as we had some "know-it-all" posters claim the recent lackluster performances have not been a problem. Another loss to a sub .500 team in the Celtics that was missing Sullinger and Isiah Thomas. There's a pretty good chance we won't hang on to the 2nd seed.
