The key will be are we mad and motivated playing at home or is the young team rattled with its confidence zapped.

RE: FIU Thread
One possible equalizing factor is that none of the conference teams coming to play in the tournament has ever played a single game in the BJCC Arena, including UAB. Some individual players might have played there as members of high school tournament teams. Unlike previous tournament host teams, this time the games are all on a neutral court where no team will have that particular "home court" advantage unless their fans make it so.

Why wouldn't he? He didn't get in a fight, did he?
For some reason I was under the impression that if a player was ejected he also missed the next game. Thought I heard the TV announcer say that as well. I'm glad that's not the case!

I know I sound like a broken FN record, but this has been a long grind for these guys. They had to go to FN Spain and get a jumpstart on the season, and then battle through an awful OOC season before hitting their stride and pulling it together in conference. 31 games at this level is a drain on these freshmen. The elder statesmen need to help the team maintain an edge at the BJCC, and the team as a whole needs to be pissed off for greatness.
Snoozy's, if we could get license to sell BIRMINGHAM gold t-shirts for the conference tourney, you'd make a Wattston.

I wonder if UAB has done any practices over at the BJCC throughout the year. Certainly at this point, I would hope they get some time in over there before the tournament starts.
I was going to say, however, that several of our team members have indeed played at the BJCC. One in particular, Lee, had a very memorable experience there. Hopefully he can tap into some of the magic he had when he last played at the BJCC.

He had a great S Florida road trip--I attribute it to the sick fade he was rocking. Too bad the refs Wattsed him.

The basketball floor may not have even been put down until next week unless they were able to leave it down since the high school playoffs. Besides, I doubt the conference would let any team have extra / early practices before the regular shoot arounds all teams get before any tournament. That kind of advantage is lost when a team's home court (in this case, Bartow Arena) is not used for the MBB tournament.

RE: FIU Thread
My wife had just finished saying William Lee acts like a little kid on the court, just having fun playing the game... then he gets his first T.
Guys with a ton of talent who ARE having fun on the court sometimes rub refs the wrong way. But Lee also has to learn to direct it at his teammates & not his oppenent.

By that logic, we should have beaten Wisconsin and North Carolina this year.
And FIU (terrible team according to you) finished 15-16. We finished 16-15.
That post was more related to conference play. This league is as weak as its ever been & we have 4 losses to the bottom eight teams. None of which have winning records overall or in conference play. All road losses probably in front of less than 1500 people. Inexcusable losses or shall I say unacceptable losses.
I guess we are a terrible team since im basing whether or not these teams are respectable upon their records. UAB shouldve won these games based on talent alone. We could easily be sitting at 18-0 in conference play.

Why do you say that. Nobody in this league is going to get an at large bid. To get to the dance we have to go through Tech. So we play them in the semi-Finals instead to the finals. Makes no difference.
We need a lot of folks at the BJCC to give this young team a home court advantage. They are going to need it.
Have to win Thursday's game in order to play La Tech on Friday. And the way we've been playing, might not even make it to Friday. Hope I'm wrong...
Let me apologize first off to you because I don't normally see you posting this ****. But, comments like this make me hate our fanbase. You people suck a fat dick. We run into a little trouble after agreat conference season, and we suck. Things could be so much worse, but we will always look at the downside.
I'm done with you idiots for a week. I'll see those of you who really care in bham For the tourney.
Chill, bro.

Ponder this with me:
The Haase system is meant to score 75 ppg (which has been a huge handicap on the road this year). If we would have scored just 70 points in every game, we'd be 21-10 (15-3) and would've won C*USA outright. We are that close. Let's have a good showing this week (including Tuesday in Montgomery ) and build our program.
Great post. Young Blazers might surprise some people next week.

He made a clear pointed gun symbol at Diaz. He was guilty.
