So I guess whoever runs the Heisman website is a ECU fan?
Getting a mention in the website doesn't constitute contention! No one actually considered Shane Carden, which is required at minimum to be a dark horse. You didn't hear the spin from ESPN talking about "Carden's Heisman Campaign" or how "this victory over UNC should solidify his case for the Heisman". No one except delusional ECU fans thought he even came close for a chance. It's just as ridiculous as considering Blake Bortles a darkhorse in 2013. Moreso, even, considering Blake Bortles is a better QB than Carden.
It's not a mention! It's his own freakin page! Its literally labeled Heimsan Contenders. God forbid it was freaking Taco Falls, or the board would be freaking shut down because of all the freaking posts!
So if I make a youtube campaign on why I should be president, and it gets covered on CNN, i'm a dark horse presidential candidate?
And I find it hilarious that KnightLight has managed to troll the entire board, and you guys are just feeding him and the rest of the UCF fans out to look for a laugh.
You're the only one trolling.
Fox News (or whatever) talking about you as president would make you a "darkhorse candidate", which is the correct analogy here.

The news outlet and it's associated political leanings are irrelevant to the analogy. CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, BBC, it is entirely irrelevant.
At the END of the season... look for this young man to be represented on that list.
Who is that?
Kurt Benkert, Carden's understudy, but has shown he has a much bigger arm. Can throw deep passes very well and runs faster. 6'3 220, so a inch taller than Carden.
how many snaps has he had in an ncaa game? If the answer is less than 10 you may want to wait and see how he does in a real game first. Ive had my share of guys who i was sure was going to be the next great thing and it just didn't work out.

You're either trolling or being selectively ignorant. Multiple major sports outlets labeled Carden as a Heisman contender.
Multiple as in a handful scattered over the offseason, major as in local carolina, and all before the season started.
And just because it is reported in an opinion piece doesn't make it legitimate. If it were i'm sure Houston and Cincinnati are locks for Big12 expansion.
Actually Memphis and Cincy. Btw, Lynch will own the AAC.
I knew as soon as I saw the thread title and who was listed, that it was only a matter of seconds til ECU fan posted that they had someone better, and you did not let me down!

that's ok. you'll find him soon enough. just don't act like you want it so bad

Not too many. I get what you're saying. However, I'm about as sure of him being the next great thing as the Chicago Tribune was that Dewey would defeat Truman.

Benkert could be the next great thing, but until he gets a TD that isn't rushing I'm more anxious than excited.
I remember when Rob Kass (he had size, speed, a strong arm) was the clear favorite and Brett Clay was behind him. The QB that ultimately won that battle? Patrick Pinkney.

That didn't have anything to do with my point. If the award voters say you're a candidate, I think you just might be a candidate.
