Not that high up haha

Bob, from Janitorial services?
My lips are sealed to protect my info stream...

Dont worry, i will drop hints when i hear things. They said it's been busy there but mostly with the summer circuit organization and with promoting the HAF

Alright...last question...for now:

Any idea how fundraising ( landing BIG Sponsor/Donors) for the Facility Master Plan is going?
Ill ask when i see them for the Hawks game!

This situation with the field has been so strange. Don't know about you guys, but as a donor and ST holder, I never got an e-mail announcing this, and there has been very little publicity and sizzle like there was for the schedulepalooza. I am not on any social media, and I'm sure there are others who aren't. The whole thing is just strange.

Asked about the master plan funding, they said that is being kept fairly under wraps but the last scrap of info they got didn't look amazing. Apparently the athletic department is really pushing and reaching put to local businesses and the community which is good to hear but they aren't getting the response they'd like.

Was afraid that might be the case. This is going to take some "Big Whales" as the casinos call 'em in Vegas. Corporate and individual.

Thanks 'Cool! 04-cheers

I really think this was a matter of making something out of nothing. The field needed replacing. Not really anything of news. The Athletics Department made a media event out of it with different designs even though the final design was already determined. It did bring attention and get our name out.

Honestly I was surprised they did anything more than just announce that the new field was going in. Everything beyond that is simply marketing and reaching for attention.

hahaha just no pleasing this crowd. I am seriously shocked at the amount of people that are upset with how the field reveal was handled. I mean seriously guys, it's may, pace your anger. All they did was try to make the new field something exciting and fun in the off season. For crying out loud, what is there to be so upset about? I'm speechless, i'm without speech.

Apparently athletics is really lobbying hard to get the naming rights to the stadium sold to someone...

I heard one name tossed around a bit. McGrath. As in the car dealer owner. Apparently he and his wife are recent donors and have expressed interest in an exact dollar amount for naming rights

I'm not on facebook but it sounds like any anger was coming from there. To me, it's just turf. After a couple games I won't even notice it.

Has there been a picture posted of the turf completed? I would really like to see it.

Still not a full picture, but it's a better view. It was posted on NIU Football's Facebook page.

Love it.

Imagine that view with a luxury suites facility on top of the east stands, nice.

If they were confident on getting that completed quickly do you think they would have had the turf face the other way?

It faces the press box. They are not moving the press box.

Good point.
The "Illinois" outline is very subtle.
Overall just a great field.

Go Huskies!

It looks like they haven't spray painted the Conference logo on yet. Perhaps it means something?! 05-stirthepot

Either way, that's probably why they haven't released 'finished' pictures, yet.

No. TV and press box will still be on the west side.
