Turns out I don't get the Pac12 network, but I really like this Arizona stats feed/gametracker thingy. Left Reeves on 1st to end the inning.

The triple was a routine soft, end-of-the-bat, defensive-swing liner directly at the left fielder. He broke in, however, and the ball sailed over his head and all the way to the wall! Whew!

It's a real red, white, and blue mess of info isn't it.

1 inning down: 2-0 Rice

The first two 'Zona batters hit solid line drives. Chandler broke in hard on the first one, but pulled up and took it on one close-in bounce. It looked like he might have been able to dive for the catch.

The second one was slightly to Chandler's left and a bit deeper. The runner was off on a hit-and-run and slowed as the ball sped into the outfield, but kept running, thinking that it would also drop in front of Chandler. But our great little CF dove, caught it and rolled over and jumped up with the ball. The runner was halfway between 2nd & 3rd when he realized the ball was caught, giving Chandler plenty of time for the double-up toss to first.

The third out was high and pretty deep. No sweat.

The white-out, high-cloudy sky will be a challenge to the outfielders to make quick decisions on depth perception and line-drive recognition.

Yeah - lots of good info but the presentation is jarring.

In T2, Taylor & Williamson are fooled by Arizona pitcher's off-speed pitches. Both strike out weakly.

Thanks -- great description, just like JP!

I think I'm going to enjoy 3 years of seeing someone like Chandler perfectly suited for the leadoff position playing for the Owls.

B2:

Screaming line drive right back to McCanna's glove. He didn't have to move it an inch to snag it. Whew!
McCanna nails the next two batters -- a righty then a lefty -- on wiffs of off-speed pitches curving down and in. Nice!

2-0, Rice.
