It was a smoking shot off the pitchers ankle that ricocheted beyond 1st base line.

T3: Stainback keeps picking on the 'Zona left-fielder. This double's legit, though ... hit solidly to the fielder's right and again rolled to the wall. He had trouble picking it up, but Stainback held at second.

Good grief. We are just giving away base runners.

Indeed! Brain freeze start to B3:
Catcher's interference on what would have been a K.
Pick-off throw eludes Tekyl; runner to 3rd.
Walk.
Bunt to McCanna on 1st base side. Runner at 3rd goes halfway and stops. McCanna turns and throws back to 3rd rather than taking the out. Everyone is safe.
Fly ball to center plates Arizona's first run.
Sharp grounder up the middle nips McCanna's glove, but 4-6-3 DP ends the inning. Whew!

The pitch looked pretty good on TV, too. Down and in, to the left-hander. (J.T. Snow called it "a left-hander's sweet spot," but I'm thinking Riley Moore is just a good golfer. The ball cleared the 30-foot RF wall 360 feet from home plate.
3-3 after 4.

RE: Rice v. Arizona --- Friday Game
T5: Nice response, Owls!
Williamson leads off with a bouncing single up the middle.
Chandler smokes another opposite-field double down the 3B line!
Stainback works the count and slaps a 4-3 productive out, advancing the runners. "That a professional at bat, right there," J.T. Snow said. "That's how you drive them in."
Byrd laces a liner to RF. The fielder catches it on a dead run and throws a strike to the plate. Chandler just beats it, out of reach of the tag. He might have been out had the catcher not set up so far in front of the plate.
Reeves his a soft liner to 2B to end the inning.
5-3, Rice. WTG, Owls!!

Shutdown B5!
F7, 3U, bunt single (between pitcher & 3rd base line; McCanna fielded it calmly, but runner beat it out easily), first-pitch F9 to end the inning.
5-3, Rice .... after 5.
