RE: ESPN to explore impact of segregation on Tuscaloosa City Schools
I watched it twice. Some things never change...3 blocks down the street from "Phyllis U"...I remember them from when I was 3 or 4 years removed from my high school alma mater, Central tormented us with that damn "box" offense they ran, no one on defense knew where the (bleeping) football was when they snapped it, they were a lot like Hoover, Clay-Chalkville and Prattville are today, a powerhouse. That was a powerful segment ESPN ran, I like their coach, the players seem to love him to death. Would love to have seen some of them play for Coach Clark at UAB.

To see a school split into three different schools and see which one's the favorite child via district lines, see: Huntsville, Grissom, Lee-Huntsville.

NPR had a great piece on this subject last spring, that I can't seem to find anymore. It gave further details about the community developments and political machinations that were behind the spilt into 3 high schools and the deal-making it took to get all sides to agree to it. It was very fascinating to see, but has sadly resulted in the transformation of Central into a "failing school." Make no mistake, the same interests who are anti-UAB are in full support of this kind of school "zoning."

Shouldn't there be a NBR before the title? Or is this somehow Blazer related?
