True, but we had several turnovers in the last minute when the game was very much undecided.

Two big moments from listening to the game on the radio seemed to be Tosin's missed dunk in the first half, which sparked a run for them that broke our 11pt lead with 3:47 left in the half. And, the Baxter turnover at the end, which gave them an easy go-ahead bucket.

RE: North Texas Thread
It's not unrealistic to expect us to beat north Texas. We are clearly better than them imo. But if you look at the big picture, you have to expect us to take a WTF loss here and there, even moreso considering how young our team is. We had to win the CUSA tourney to get to the big dance and we had to rely on a couple of other teams to lose for us to win the regular season, regardless of how this game played out. The margin for error is much thinner now. I expect us to win out now, and with help from some other teams above us, we could be in first when it's all said and done. Don't jump off the ledge. I was really pissed too, but it's ok

RE: North Texas Thread
Most teams have some WTFs on the road, especially when you're missing your second leading scorer and an important rebounder (who also happens to be the only senior who plays). That is basketball.
5-1 in the remaining games get us a share of the CUSA title probably and a 1st round bye. WKU will almost certainly lose at least two more, if not three. LT might pull it out and end up with only 3 losses though. UTEP probably picks up one more.
At worst, I think we finish ahead of WKU and ODU with LT and UTEP ahead of us, but who knows.

Beating North Texas is not an unrealistic expectation
Sure it is. You cant expect a team of a young team like ours with 25 games under their belts to play a cohesive game. Give them time. Beating a great team in front of a huge crowd of 2600 is too much to ask. When you play in one of the best conferences in America or the free world, road wins are virtually impossible. Be happy we have a basketball program. I truly believe before our guys finish at UAB, we will own that arena. For now be a real UAB fan and stop having expectations. You will sleep much better. Stop complaining before we ban you.

This maybe was a glimpse into the future. We could use a little more size.

We are still looking to add size, correct? I'm sure we were looking at more bigs, but just couldn't find one that fit. I think Sullivan will be fine in a year or two, but he just isn't quite ready right now.
I don't expect to lose to North Texas, but I'm not going to let it ruin what has otherwise been an outstanding conference season. It's one loss, and it happens. This year, I want our guys to be in tough situations and learn how to overcome those. Getting valuable experience is huge for the future of this program. When we got back to North Texas, I don't expect to come out of there with a loss.

Well I don't know who we're recruiting really it's not like we have a good beat writer or talked about much on recruiting sites, thanks for twitter. I wasn't talking just bigs we need some bigger and better guards but we have so many guards it would create a logjam that's particularly the reason I don't mind Sullivan staying on the perimeter he just has to find his shot like others on the team.
I too think being 20 plus games in a season means you're no longer a freshman. Some here tend to just count conference games now I look at the whole picture like exhibition loss to unt loss, I don't expect to lose unt period. This loss may have ended a 20 win season, it dropped our rpi, and we may have lost the nit auto bid. All we may have now to fight for is a cusa bye for the tourney and the tournament NCAA auto bid we controlled our destiny.

I agree with all your points, for the most part. However, we didn't truly control our destiny. We still would've needed La Tech to lose a couple of more games, even if we won out. We just need a little more help now.
I don't know why we lost a very winnable game, but all I can hope is that it's a learning experience and we don't make the same mistakes again. I agree the team is more seasoned now, but you can't totally overlook that these guys are still young players. It's a learning process. If we are taking these type of losses next year, I will be really, really pissed off. The next 1-2 years are when we have to make our run and Haase has to show what he's really made of as a coach.

Young players lol people used that excuse alot. Yes we're young that was a UaB decision though. Freshmen are the talk of college basketball now, leading their own teams a little. UaB can't afford to give this team another year in terms of being relevant it's amazing how low we've gotten expectations wise.
Also what you're saying is CJH needs five years turn around XCMD problems? The problem that plagued XCMD was height /size which he started to address, bench production, and end of the season fatigue and she few more

As long as UAB finishes in the Top 4 at the end of the regular season that is all that matters.

There were a few more problems than that, but a thumb-ectomy that stopped him from ever texting again would have solved many of his problems.

I'm kinda with you, hated that we had one true pg. That alone made aj in my opinion nobody else could run the show. There was a time we hated three straight nits now we hope to get to one in two more years and it's fine.

It was not a UAB decision. It was a Chad Frazier decision.
Lmao, he's still getting blamed this season!! Wow mb let it go. Guess Chad was the coach, leading scorer and AD and decided to just relieve himself of all duties. Chad recruited freshmen and one what D2 juco instead of offering more jucos.

Chad really screwed up what was going on, and you know it. That can never be lost in this season. Also, Haase appears to have signed good freshmen, which I would much rather have than more jucos. I expected this to be up and down this year. I expect a run of postseason play for years to come from now on. Haase has his pieces in place, no more excuses after this year.
