I remember my dad telling me how he'd work over the summer to pay for college the next year. I work throughout school and summer, and despite going to one of the most reasonably priced universities in the nation, there's no way I could make it through without taking out loans to cover the cost. The facts are education and cost of living has gone up relative to median salary, and this has hit my generation more than I believe many people realize.

It's easy to point at idiots at private liberal arts schools majoring in philosophy and racking up $140k in student loans, but the reality is a large amount of people entering the workforce making relatively less than their parents did while also being saddled with more debt. Wax poetic about personal responsibility all you want, but that doesn't change the above facts.

I just believe that a person pays their debts! I know that's crazy talk!! It speaks volumes of how many people have no character in our country. And those apologists are just as complicit.

Debt in all areas in life is bad, and is the opposite of freedom. But most don't grasp the idea and just plod along and never own anything just make payments!!

As long as you pay your bills, your good!! Its the people that do not pay their bills, and have an entitlement attitude on what they deserve out of life. No one 'owes' you anything!
