Oh, you just gotta love it when the simpletons play their role perfectly. Thank you guys, you have done a tremendous service, and disservice, to your fellow Connecticut folk.

Storrs is in northeastern Connecticut, closer to Boston than NYC. Fairfield County is in southwestern Connecticut, a suburb of NYC.
For the 1,000th time ... college BB in NYC is all about UConn & Syracuse. College FB is split with Rutgers, UConn, Syracuse, Penn State, and ND. But college FB is dwarfed by the Giants & Jets.
Mods: I beg you to block all UConn threads. They're just full of uninformed hate.
You are absolutely delusional if you think UCONN football gets mentioned in the same breath as ND, Penn St. or Rutgers, anywhere near NYC. I can assure you there is not one person here who could name the head coach or one player on the team. (I know I can't) The same is pretty much true for basketball. The UCONN support here is limited to the number of fans you can fit on the train coming down from New Haven. People that live here in the City are not at all caught up about some team from Storrs, Connecticut. What is it about you people from places like Texas that make you feel qualified to educate the unlearned masses about the tastes and preferences of people living here in New York. And I don't care if you lived here years ago. The preposterous nonsense you write makes it seem like you could be from another planet. You have absolutely no clue what you're talking about. UCONN has zero penetration for football, and little in basketball beyond those that pack the trains to making their way to the Garden from Connecticut. Stick to high school football in Texas, or some other topic you're likely to have more of a clue about.
You have issues.
Obviously he does, seems like his issue is with lies.
You hit the nail on the head. These UCONN people crack me up how they get so outraged when someone has the audacity to correct the nonsense they spew. Someone from Texas telling us that the college football market in NYC is shared by UCONN is beyond ludicrous. And then this crybaby begs the mods to protect him from the meanies that call him out on this. No doubt this guy was the one in school crying to the playground monitor to protect him from the bullies at lunchtime. Hey dude, if you're that sensitive, then don't come on a message board pretending you know what you're talking about. And by the way, not only do New Yorkers have no interest in UCONN football, it seems even people in Connecticut have limited interest as well, judging by the attendance numbers your football team draws. Time for all you UCONN crybabies to grow up, and stop pretending you're something you're not.

You may not know it, but it is the tri-state area (NY-NJ-CT). The NYC metropolitan area extends beyond Manhattan.

He's trolled the AAC board. Maybe he hates UConn or the AAC. Whatever his motivation, trolling is childish.
I don't like the ACC, but I don't even go to their board, much less post smart a$$ comments.

I have lived in this area my whole life. The NY Metropolitan area may extend beyond Manhattan, but it don't reach Hartford....And no matter how hard you wish, Hartford (and therefore Storrs) will never be in the NY Metropolitan area. When most folks who live in the area say "tri-state" area - they mean NYC, suburbs to the north, Fairfield county and northern/central NJ and most of LI. I have (and no one I know) would ever consider "Buffalo" as part of the "tristate" area (or syracuse for that matter)...but using your logic, why not? Maybe the Univ of Buffalo owns part of the NY football scene too.

Wrong again cowboy. I had one post today on the AAC board concerning a UCF fan saying there was no national interest in UCONN vs any of the BE schools and I simply asked how much national interest there was in UCONN vs UCF. Before that my last post on the AAC board was last April where I congratulated Houston on it's excellent baseball season. Hardly qualifies me as a troll does it?

I don't disagree with the concept of not trolling the conference boards. That doesn't have anything to do with my comment. I wasn't talking about all the boards, I was talking about this board that we are currently conversing upon.
I don't go to the extreme on the conference boards that I do visit.

Yeah, I found the "We are part of NY too" response to be quite the stretch as well.

If you knew demographics, you'd know the NYC TV market (DMA) reaches far into Connecticut and even into Pennsylvania. When the entire market is considered, UConn has a definite presence in that market. That is my point. I never said UConn had 40% of the college football fans in Manhattan or anything foolish like that.

If you knew demographics, you'd know the NYC TV market (DMA) reaches far into Connecticut and even into Pennsylvania. When the entire market is considered, UConn has a definite presence in that market. That is my point. I never said UConn had 40% of the college football fans in Manhattan or anything foolish like that.
yeah, I know demographics, the NY DMA includes fairfield county, thats it. Hartford is it's own DMA.....all because you get the local NY channels as part of your basic+ cable package doesn't make you part of the DMA....You might be seeing local NY news, but those of us that are local to the NY DMA ain't seeing the local hartford nightly news, and they (the NY stations) aren't covering hartford, thats for sure. Maybe you have some sizeable fan base in fairfield, but thats it.

Words cannot describe the insanity shown by He1nous, but I'll attempt to do so. It's very hard to combat.......whatever it is that He1nous is peddling.
When you go double full retard and triple the crazy, like He1nous, it's best to just shut this thread down. Taffer it, if you will.
