When I bought my tickets this morning from the UAB ticket office this morning, there was no mention that you could not buy a single ticket. In fact on the row were my two tickets are located, there were three seats left after my purchase meaning unless someone buys all three, there will be at least one single seat to be sold.
Maybe someone was stating that no single tickets were being sold on the C-USA website, not the UAB ticket office. (See my post above.)

I'm going to buy an all session pass but I can't get the $250. I wonder if they will let people move down in early session games where seating is available. I'd imagine they would be more picky by semi finals and title games.

RE: CUSA Tournament Tickets
I decided to go ahead and buy mine. Just faxed over my order sheet. I did not renew my Blazer Booster Membership this year so using that $$ towards Conference Tournament Tickets. And for the record, I let them know I will be back as a Blazer Booster when football returns and/or Watts is gone.

No doubt, I'm going unless something unforeseen comes up. But, I need to wait until closer to the tourney to make sure.

I'm going +1 at least, however I'll pretty much only go to games involving our guys. Could change my mind by then though. There are some solid teams in conference right now

RE: CUSA Tournament Tickets
They need to have much more advertising for it right now.
People need to know it's coming up. Most my friends don't really know about it.
I definitely plan on bringing a block of people to the first UAB game. Probably won't buy the tickets until a day or two after the schedule is announced though. Also will plan on some people for the championship game, but have to wait till single tickets go on sale.
anyone have an idea how much championship game tickets will cost?

UAB has a bunch of morons that work in marketing for athletics in general.

Haven't really noticed any TV spots about the tournament but I have heard commercials on some of the more popular local radio stations. Not sure what the advertising budget is but you would think that CUSA would at least help with the advertising aspect.

Yeah. CUSA should help with advertising. This is THEIR tournament. UAB is just hosting it. We shouldn't be responsible for all the advertising, etc, that goes into the bigger picture for the event.

RE: CUSA Tournament Tickets
I think at the end of the day, this will be a relatively successful tournament. UAB folks will get tickets, even if it is day of. And for many teams in CUSA, the central location will likely result in good turnout from many of the key players in the CUSA race (La Tech, WKU, MTSU, ODU, Charlotte).

Little did we realize when we were bidding on the tournament that Watts would go on a rampage.

They can shove flyers up our tails every day until the tournament & it won't make a difference.
Watts has UAB pissed & UAB does not want to spend 1 penny on anything while Watts & the BOT are in control.

I agree and I had the same thought at first and wasn't going to buy C-USA Tourney tickets but then I thought a bad showing will prevent UAB/Birmingham from hosting future tournaments even WHEN football returns. So I went ahead and purchased a pass... Used the money I normally would give to Blazer Boosters.

Yep, I know the implications of this. Unfortunately the president that we have in place doesn't care. He intends to end all athletics at UAB & ultimately all undergraduate studies.

I understand where you are coming from, but I am thinking of this differently. If I misunderstand the manner in which is handled someone can correct me, but this is not the UAB tournament, but the Conference USA tournament. The money from the tickets is going to renting the BJCC and putting on tournament and any "profit" goes to the conference, not UAB. Personally I would think that it would be slap in the face of this young Blazer team not to support them during the tournament held in their home town after all of the work they have put in.

RE: CUSA Tournament Tickets
You're right also, there is no reson for CUSA to get upset when there has been very little advertising for it. The ticket sales will pick up this month and there will be a lot of walk ups the days of the tournament. It would be great to see al.com get involved and put a couple articles on the website and the paper promoting UAB and the tournament in general.
We need to keep winning so we can earn a top 4 seed, increase our confidence, and start some buzz around town.
Even though we struggled early in the season, I think the atlantis trip will payoff CUSA tourney time. That second half of the last game vs. UCLA our guys were still playing with great intensity. Our depth and our balanced attack are two very positive things that will help us out in March. Looking foward to it
