I guess the dumber they are the better you like them. Most players will not end up in the NBA, even good ones. Getting good grades is nothing to laugh at when you are talking about the rest of someones life AFTER playing college ball. I just remember most what my son in law told me who was in a top recruiting class for the TEXAS LONGHORN football program. After one year, half his recruiting class was not longer at UT. They had flunked out because to too much partying and cutting classes. Later on the Coach, David Mc Williams was fired. Coaches take good grades seriously as should anyone who realizes there is more to basketball and football them being an ignorant fool or the propensity to be college drop out.
Fantastic. Taking grades seriously is a good thing. At some point, however, you have to be a good basketball coach too.

If so, what did the player(s) actually say about JP and his staff?
Memphis fans seem just a tad critical.
I met with a young man who is in the "physical fitness" area for the team...great guy.
Also, how does JP's W-L record compare with that of other young coaches starting their coaching careers?
Current players or past players or the four who've left the team since the preseason?
Which one you talking about? The one who left to go closer to home to be with his kid. Or the one who got into a fight with a football player over a girl and ended up putting his hand on a school official.?

The one who left to be closer to his kid wound up 2000 miles away from his kid.

If there is a choice between a two-star valedictorian and a five-star kid with a 2.5 GPA, every school and coaching staff in the country is taking the kid with the lower GPA.
Why? because their jobs depend on winning.
I hope Memphis basketball wins. I'm not saying recruit thugs, but damn you can't tell me it's okay to be horrible with a bench full of four- and five-star athletes who are ALSO making grades. Josh has a roster of elite talents and good students and CANNOT WIN.
If all you want are great students then work in the engineering department. Don't coach high-major basketball.
You might be the dumbest dude on here.
