Just heard on verno that he might be transferring. If this is true it's terrible news. We keep losing players like this. I think he could be a good player with proper coaching and someone who could develop him. This is not good.

To be fair, he was saying John Martin thinks he may not be back. Vernon was shocked to hear Martin thinks that.
It is certainly disconcerting...to lose a player like King may actually get the decision makers to look at pulling the trigger on JP a year early

There is one positive. Once all the players leave, we'll just have a team made up of walk ons. There is a good chance that you could play for the Tigers soon!

Bound to happen. He would be better off at a MVC school where 6'7" players are typically at 4 spot-because that is what he is. They are very good at coaching that style in that conference and a few others. Won't fly in American. Yes its down this year but the bigs are just as good-drop off is in guard play.

I don't think JP can survive another top 25 recruit not panning out here and transferring...especially someone like King. Not a problem child

I didn't say it was a done deal. I say he might b transferring. It would make sense as to why he didn't play. I hope it's not true. Just sharing what was said. I think John Martin and those guys are in the know and wouldn't just make this stuff up. Anyways I would hate to see him go I really like the kid.

Ha! Reminds me of Breakfast Club.

His minutes have gone down and he seems to be behind AN/Shaq/Godfrey at the 4/5 and seems to be uncomfortable at the 3 (shooting range).

I like King, but right now he is not better than the 3 guys in front of him and minutes might suffer more when we bring in Dedric Lawson.

I'd like to see him stick around and fight for minutes, but if he isn't going to get run and that is the reason for him considering transferring, then I don't have an issue with that.

Still, it's a rumor. I'd be hard pressed to think it's real until it happens. So many things are discussed that don't happen in life...

The 2013 class was loaded. Being top 50 is about like being top 30 in a normal year

Twas. I hope King stays, but he's not getting minutes right now. If he feels it won't improve in the near term, a transfer might make sense for all parties.

Personally I hope he improves whatever game holes are keeping him behind AN/Shaq/Godfrey. He seems to have a real nose for rebounding and that is a skill this team has really been deficient in recently.

Best to him either way. Hope he's here or happy somewhere else.

It's college. Lots of students transfer for lots of reasons. For a hoops guys, minutes is a key reason.
