They just had another off night...

they are still one of the top 2 teams in the belt though. good teams have bad games.

I actually don't think that's the case right now. Our defense has gone down, and our outside shooting has been spotty. Last nights game with South Al is a microcosm of our last 7-8 games. We have stretches in games where we shoot great, and then come back and have long periods where we struggle to make a shot. Last night was a perfect example with shooting over 50% in the first half and only 32% in the second while letting the opponent shoot over 60% from the field. It was like "Groundhog Day" of the game in Lafayette earlier this year.

When you have Guys who shot .542 and .434 from three point range last year are .351 and .306 this year. With Shawn Long you're going to have teams pack it in a little, and if you go long stretches where you can't make outside shots you're going to struggle. We just haven't been consistent enough. The only positive side I see is the one entry into post season will be the tournament winner, and as the Cajuns proved last year you only need to play good for four days so you just need to make it to the tournament. They have the capability, but we'll have to see how it plays out.

my comment was more tongue in cheek directed towards one of your fans who said GS was the 5th best team in the league after we beat you guys.

There is still plenty of games left for the top half of the teams to make a run for the bye weeks.

Cajuns have the most talent in the Belt. Whether or not they have the best team is a far different proposition. Also, they don't have the best coach.

If you're talking about overall depth I think the Cajuns might be deeper. If you talking the top 2-3 players I think you're right. The Cajuns were less talented as a team last year with Payton than they are this year. Unfortunately, talent doesn't always equate to wins.

Georgia State is a 2 man team...Now they are two very super talented players who will both be in the NBA very soon...but otherwise, it's your typical Decent SBC team.

In terms of talent from the top to the bottom of the roster, the Cajuns have it.

I haven't seen Ga. State play yet in Statesboro (that comes next Thursday) but I would not say the Cajuns are the most talented team at this point.

Lol. Take the two best players off any team and see where they stand. The crazy part is that our best player isn't even playing this year. Jeremy Hollowell, transferred from Indiana, and is a machine. He is the best player on GSU. Wait til next year when he takes the court.

LOL.03-lmfao03-lmfao If you think I'm giving up on this year, you're nuts.

If we don't win the Sun Belt, this season was a failure. We are peaking at the right time. I'm all in this year, no doubt about it.

Must be related to Tony Mitchell.

It's not so much a statement about us looking forward to next year as much as to say this current success we're having at basketball isn't just a phase. Next year and the year after, it'll continue. We have the right players right now and we'll have even more talent come online next season.

Hollowell is the love child between Tony Mitchell and Brittney Griner. I heard he was going to go straight to the NBA, but decided Georgia State would be a better choice for a little more practice.
