has anybody said why he doesn't?

There has to be something. I just don't see how someone puts up those kind of stats and doesn't have an offer somewhere. Something has to be off about him.

Well he just visited Butler CC in Kansas.

No one in NM understands why he hasn't been offered at any level. There has to be a reason why.

That's definitely crazy. You'd think NMSU would be all over that kid. Gotta be a reason other than location.

I'm thinking crazy helicopter mom that's threatened coaches when they ask to speak with her son because she secretly wants to keep him at home as long as possible.

I still laugh when I see your sig remembering the epic beatdown he ultimately took at the end.

As for the QB....why do people automatically jump to the conclusion that something must be wrong with the kid?

If he goes to Butler CC he may end up a Bobcat if he does well there. Fran recruits that school heavily.

Does NMSU really only have 4 commitments right now? That's what Rivals is showing.

NMSU has 24. The guy who runs NMSU's Rivals use to do pretty good about recruiting info. Not sure why he has only four. We have had more then 4 since June.

His father sent out info to every FBS head coaches and some FCS. Could it be that the coaches don't want to deal with the father?

If the kid really is a good player, he should walk on somewhere and just show them what he can do, will not take him long to earn a scholarship if he can really play.

He sent tape out to every FBS school and several FCS/D2 schools. That's 130+ schools. Everyone has passed on him, one article mentions that nobody recruits NM but another ABQ QB has committed to Michigan over Texas, baylor, bama and a ton of other schools.

There's almost 1.1 million HS football players, if you assume 1/4th are seniors that's around 270,000 players with only 3175 FBS scholarships available. That means only the top 1.175% of the players will get a full ride. I t looks like every FBS staff thinks he's only the top 1.2%. Not bad, but not enough to land a scholarship.

When a coach comes to recruit a player they talk to EVERYBODY. Coaches, teachers, neighbors, janitors and a lot of times a player who lights it up on the field and looks like a saint off of it actually has some serious red flags. I'm not saying this is the case, but UNM and NMSU are f'ing terrible and even they don't want to offer him. Numbers aren't everything. Of course there was once this kid who had a big arm but couldn't land an offer out of high school so he went to a JC and was discovered when some coaches started to recruit his TE. He ended up going to Green Bay in the 1st round and has had a pretty decent career.

Agreed! Something's up here. I don't care if he's 5'6" 130 lbs.

No doubt he could be good. But...if New Mexico truly only has two three star players in the entire state, what happens when he goes up against a team in the SBC that has 20 to 30 on their roster? If rivals is correct, then he has not been challenged at all.
