Hayden tonight! (Go Cats)

Just got back from the Hayden meeting. As mentioned Hayden passed the resolution tonight. Tim spoke at the meeting.

We also had a chance to discuss things with Sen Shelnutt & Rep David Standridge tonight. Both said that they support UAB.

Support UAB in general or support Williams bills?

Williams wasn't mentioned specifically, but support for UAB & the bills.
Both said that UAB should have its own BOT.

Said they have been contacted quite a bit & they have even discussed this with a rep from Mobile.

Wow. This is amazing. With more cities/counties lining up.

Hueytown is set to at their next meeting: February 24th @ 6 pm.

I just wanted to point out that Jeff County did not pass a resolution. They wrote a letter of support which is similar. See below for additions or revisions that should be made to the list.

Pending resolutions:
Talladega 2/19 (6 pm)
Talladega County 2/23 (6 pm)
Chelsea 3/3 (6 pm)

Also Douglas is in Marshall County, not Madison.

No action/unknown:
Chelsea needs to be removed.

Considering resolutions:
Muscle Shoals
Sheffield
Tuscumbia

I've spoken with several Homewood City Councilors and that appears to be tough road to get a resolution. Some want unanimous approval before they vote and others want to wait on the task force report before voting...

We were talking about after the Southern Miss game about this.

Perhaps it's time to put a little economic pressure on the good folks at the City Hall in Homewood. Vestavia saw the light pretty quickly when possible economic impacts were pointed out.

This council sounds very similar to the BOT. How can they have unanimous approval before a vote without violating sunshine laws?

According to Tim Alexander, Douglas passed their resolution tonight.

City of Blountsville in northern Blount County should be considering a resolution this Thursday at their monthly meeting. More details to come.
