He doesn't need to sign. I don't blame any player for not signing with the school they committed to.

Lots of factors come into play.
Grades, standardized test scores, injuries, performance issues, other offers, etc.
We're not a team that traditionally signs a lot of guys in the Fall.
I wouldn't worry about it.

Agree.
I do believe that if he hasn't taken the college board exams, e.g., he can't sign.
Or maybe he needs to pass certain courses to meet the NCAA requirements, etc.
The NCAA min. requirements went up this year as well.
Kind of like maybe things become clearer after this semester if over, etc.

Michigan kids take the SAT in the spring of their junior year. Unless you're my kid then you've gotta take it two more times to increase your merit scholarship.

We CAN scratch EMU. Hardy will pick among three big conference teams.

Quite frankly, EMU would be a tough spot for him. We have a transfer sitout, Jackson, who should be a 2-year starter.
Our biggest need isn't at PG (it is SG where we lose both Mangum and Lee).

He announced a school in OK yesterday.

Correct. OSU (Okla State).
As I suggested above our biggest need, by far, is SG. We have a frosh prospect, Silver, plus Terry Harris.
Is Terry Harris really a SG or SF? IDK (I don't know).
Is EMU verbal, Epps, a SG or SF? IDK.

RE: 2016/17/18 Men's Basketball Recruiting
This is OT, sorry for the diversion, but it is about 2016 recruiting.
We were recruiting a number of guards, e.g., Rashad Lindsey, Byron Hawkins, (maybe???), Rashad's teammate Daniel Dzierzawski (also from Moberly, like Lindsay) who went to Toledo.
Don't know how sitout Hawkins is doing but Lindsey is doing very well at Ark. State (scored 12 in an upset win over Georgetown), but Dzierzawski after a very good strart is TRANSFERING (after one sememster). Wow.
https://twitter.com/OGOF88/status/799432430750928896
http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketb...ad-lindsey
And we ended up with Paul Jackson as a transfer sitout, who like Hawkins will play a year later.
And maybe in a year we'll look back at Winston (JUCO - WR) who almost came to EMU FB... How would that have turned out???
Lot of 'Ifs, ands, buts, etc.' in recruiting...

RE: 2016/17/18 Men's Basketball Recruiting
BTW, this does show the issue of starters/class/returning players, etc.
EMU had a PG, Toney, returning.
Some JUCOs don't want to sit behind a starter for a year and only have one year remaining.
Paul Jackson, OTOH, has a free shot at starting PG next year.

I'm thinking out load here but I think next year's team needs a JUCO scorer ala Mangum/Toney providing Epps signs. If Epps doesn't sign make that two JUCO shooting guards.

Agree.
A team built to win NOW doesn't play multiple frosh at SG.
The JUCO SG should be able to start from day one.
EDIT: Might add chances of signing say Greg Elliot is diminish: He was offered by Marquette.

I expect Epps to be here, but agree with adding a juco SG. Jackson and Bond can split the point, and getting a JUCO will allow us to either redshirt Silver or ease him in. Epps has a D1 body already and will almost certainly play immediately.

At the rate his game is developing, Jordan Nobles might be our PG soon.
Ok, probably not, but MAC West Player of the Week is pretty impressive for the young man!

And well deserved! He's become a huge building block for this program. There isn't a lot he can't do.

Be careful not to misquote (or even quote me ) me on this...
Wasn't Magic Johnson kind of a 'point forward'?
Isn't Jordan trying to become a 'point forward' (also?).
To me, a point forward is a forward who handles the ball like a PG and can kind of do everything.
He isn't there yet as a ball handler.

I look at his game and think he's developing into a "Skinny Lamar Odom".
