No offense but didn't make any of Steve Bell's all state teams for his team's class or Detroit News/Detroit Free Press teams. Not saying the scouting service you use is wrong just saying opinions differ.

"So What"
Because we're within 50-150 miles of some of the best players nationally. That why out of state colleges recruit here.
Everyone recruits everywhere... They recruit in MI; we recruit in their states.
Michigan is no where as good a recruiting area as you seem to think. I don't have MI in my top 10 states.
Last time I checked, I believe only TWO players who played their senior years in a MI h.s. this past season signed with a P5 program. Those two would be Winston to MSU and Davis to UofM.
Not at all impressive compared to other states or areas (e.g., NYC, or D.C./and its suburbs, L.A. or even a state like N. Carolina).
Look at N. Carolina: http://www.scout.com/high-school/north-c...viation=NC
I count 10 P5 signees + other high ranked prospects not listed as having signed yet.
EDIT: How about Virginia:
http://www.scout.com/high-school/virgini...viation=VA
Again over a dozen high major signees: Duke, Louisville, KY, Duke, Miss. State, Ohio State, etc. etc.

And why we're panning local players for signing with Niagara or borderline Div I in the case of Oakland, our only signee had exactly how many other Div I offers?

So? Get back with me in 3 months and see if we did better (or worse) than those two signees...

I didn't say Michigan ranked as a top recruiting state, but that major P5 teams have recruited here in the past 5-6 years. Plenty of Division I talent within 50-150 miles from Ypsi alot of it closer than that Corey Allen, Ty Groce etc.

If you want a little 'education', a term you once used here, read the Tweets by Lamonta Stone (@lamontastone) about the problems with MI h.s. basketball.
"LaMonta Stone @lamontastone 54m54 minutes ago
I have been home about 18 months . When I left Michigan to start my collegiate career in the early 2000's, Michigan was the envy all bball."
"LaMonta Stone @lamontastone 46m46 minutes ago
Its saddened my heart to watch what is going on with youth basketball in or state."
"LaMonta Stone @lamontastone 28m28 minutes ago
Their should be no reason for most of the top 10 players in our state looking to go play at a prep school. We must give them reason to stay."
Sir (EMU79), I think you Rip van Winkled the last 15 years of MI h.s. basketball.

Relatively speaking it isn't Ohio, IL, NYC, D.C., L.A., FL, N.C. Va, etc. etc.
I got a hash tag for you: #Whiny'79
Doesn't like mid-week FB games, doesn't like Friday night games, doesn't like noon basketball games, doesn't like to wait until May for basketball recruits, doesn't like JUCO basketball players, transfers, etc.
It hit me yesterday, you whine about everyone on earth...

RE: 2016/17/18 Men's Basketball Recruiting
Yeah to win an argument on this board Steve would use an atomic bomb on a gnat.
I've been through the death of a son, survived cancer so Steve's little digs define him more than me. I know this board appears to be important to Steve's ego.
But moving past Steve's high school clique mentality I'll repeat what I've said along. There's plenty of division I caliber men's basketball and football within 150 miles of Ypsi. Within the last 10 years high mid majors and out of state mid majors not to mention programs like CMU, Oakland Toledo, WMU UD and NIU have been more successful than EMU. And sticking to the MAC CMU and WMU have been able to win conference championships and go to the NCAAs with key players from Michigan high schools. And many of those as we've seen that have gone out of state have transferred back in state.
EMU both in football and men's basketball has failed to attract instate talent. I view that as a concern and some don't. In general I think most programs want to dominate their home recruiting and then go outside.

Maybe we can all focus on actually signing some players for next year's team.

From Steve Bell:
Interesting.
Wow, some underhanded negative recruiting going on with the state's mid-majors. What is this, AAU?

Oh, my.
He calls me 'arrogant' (or maybe have 'arrogant tendencies') and I call him a 'whiner.'
Maybe he should read the quotes from Trump, Cruz, Boehner, Clinton, Sanders...
Calling someone a 'whiner' is Sunday school stuff... Like getting hit with a wet noodle.

Murray St, Dayton, Eastern Michigan, and Cal St Northridge.
Think ESPN also has us involved with another transfer. This one a SF.

He will not be eligible this year. Would be a great replacement for Toney in 2017/18.
This would be fascinating IF he decides to come to EMU.
I mentioned that I know a P5 recruit from the D.C. area. Friday when I saw this I asked his mom if her son know him. He does. Part of the D.C. scene including private schools + AAU. I have no idea if they are friends or rivals. (This is the same player who knows the (former) FB recruit from Gwynn Park, Md who opted to joint a teammate at Rhode Island instead of coming to EMU).
Wish I had known a day earlier. My fmr. co-worker's son played in the Capital Classic all-star game Thursday night (I was there).
