RE: This is Just Wrong
Food Lion is Belgium owned. I'll cash that check, but I won't patronize.
Wegmans is garbage. Southeastern Grocers went full tard competing against themselves with Winn-Dixie and Bi-Lo (what, you expect good management to come out of Jacksonville?). Kroger is like a Camry.... average, bland, boring, and everywhere.
Do you even Ingles, brah?

Wegman's needs to put up some money then.
Food Lion is a no frills, low cost store. Even if they were in the same markets, I don't think Food Lion and Wegman's would be competing.

Cool story, bro. Ingles is okay but no Wegmans.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wegmans
Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. is a family-owned U.S. regional supermarket chain headquartered in Gates, New York, near Rochester.[5][6] Wegmans has 85 stores[1] in the mid-Atlantic and New England regions, in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Massachusetts, and Virginia. Founded in 1916 in Rochester, Wegmans has appeared on Fortune's annual "100 Best Companies to Work For" list since the list first appeared in 1998, and has ranked among the top 10 for eight consecutive years.[7] Food Network recognized it with its award for Best Grocery Store in 2007,[8] and Consumer Reports ranked it the top large U.S. grocery chain in 2012[9] and in 2014.[10] It was also profiled as part of "Here Are The Jobs" segment on MSNBC's PoliticsNation on July 6, 2012.[11]

Everyone else, Wegmans beats everything in the south every day of the week and twice on Sunday - except for Fiesta, but that's only because I absolutely love their name, especially with the bird. It's great!

Them There Is Fighten Words!
Have you ever been into Wegmans? I have traveled up and down the east coast for work over the years and part of the Midwest. I have seen nothing that comes remotely close to the quality and atmosphere in Wegmans stores. There are a couple of Wegmans here in Rochester that look like castles, one of them multi level with underground parking. Many cities are practically begging Wegmans to expand in their areas, and offering all sorts of tax breaks. When a Wegmans has a grand opening in new cities, its usually and event that draws as many as 60,000 people in one day and has traffic snarled for miles around. Its truly remarkable what that family has built.
There is another chain in Upstate NY that tried to compete with Wegmans called Top Markets. They gave up on building the massive superstores, and now are building smaller stores that are similar to Winn Dixies or Publix.
Also I never heard of Ingles...., but I did a google them.

Wegmans seems more like a Fresh Market, which I do like a lot. However, for regular groceries I prefer Harris Teeter.

You never heard of Wegmans, I can see. But Winn Dixies and Publix? They are all over the south.

I don't get too into grocery stores but my favorite is Giant Eagle Market District. Have any of you guys ever heard of Giant Eagle?
When I lived in Florida Publix was the big grocery store. It was okay. Nothing special. Truthfully, I've never been in a grocery store where I thought, "This is it! This is where I belong!"
