The NCAA won't do dick, because UA is a cash cow for them, but SACS isn't scared of them. It may take a while but this is going to bring down the dictatorial BoT in Tuscaloosa.

I work with several Alabama fans and fully believe that they will blame UAB as they've done research on the subject.

I would have believed you last week, but the way things have gone down this week, I can't see how that could possibly be true!!

The BOT and Witt were handed a "get out of jail free" card with the no confidence votes. They tore it up and they flung it in the face of UAB's faculty, students, employees, and alumni.

The BOT members do not realize that they are a bunch of dinosaurs and a large meteor is about to hit their planet. Evolution is about to occur and they will be left in the dust. It does not have to end that way for them, but they are too pig-headed to see the value in UAB. In the end, that will seal their fates as a BOT.

NCAA has no jurisdiction. Nothing to do with unjust enrichment or unfair advantage of players.

This is political battle now. Also a battle of Public Opinion. UAB needs Statewide Public Opinion & State Legislature sympathy in advance of any future legislation that comes out.

Alabama doesn't need garbage like Paul Bryant Jr. or Finis St.John they like Logan Young hurt that school as bad as they try to hurt UAB. Hopefully people will realize that and run the bastards off.

There are two multimillion dollar entities in the UA system -- the B'ham medical complex and the Crimson Tide football program in Tuscaloosa. As of right now, who has control of both? I am as hopeful as any that UAB can find a way to bring back football on a D1 level, but if winning legislative fights in Montgomery is necessary to have that happen, we had better be ready for a multimillion dollar fight because the stakes are really that high for the BOT and their friends around the capital.

The sooner UAB and the City of Birmingham get those two out of the way, the better for all concerned.

wasn't potera just an interim president?
I'm not sure, but he tried to scorch the earth with UAH's Hockey team...Bravo to our brothers and sisters to the North for not sitting still for that bull****, it's our turn to do the same thing with our lost sports team...We cannot fail, we must not fail...#BringTheFight

Ever since Izell Reese publicized his tape recordings, I have been trying to figure out if the other participants (Mackin, Ealy, Carr, maybe some others but those are the names I've seen mentioned) knew they were being taped by Reese. Another poster indicated that Reese placed the recording device in plain view so everyone knew the discussions were being taped.

But now Archibald writes:
John Archibald Wrote:They have heard former UAB Athletics Director Brian Mackin acknowledge on tape - he didn't know he was being taped, apparently - that Bryant has nothing but contempt for UAB football. They've seen the trustees' fingerprints at the scene of crimes too often.

That still doesn't mean he did or did not know. He is assuming that Mackin would not have said it if he were not being taped. I contend that he would have said it any way. He can't stand the guy.

I have heard Mackin say FAR stronger stuff about JR in mixed company. Things that would make a sailor blush.

Fully agree, ATTALLABLAZE.

To me, Reese is the only person on the committee who would Definitely have said the same things, regardless of whether the meetings were taped or not, and regardless of whether he knew the meetings were taped or not. I say that out of respect for Reese's sincerity and integrity, and also because of the fact that he had no other agenda beyond supporting Blazer football. I can't necessarily say that for the other participants, however. So it's a relevant question to ask if they knew they were being recorded, or not. I wish we could get a definitive answer on that.

This is the Q/A on the topic from last week:

I thought the recording was made secretly. Not true?
I would venture to guess that the recorder was "on the table" in plain sight with a little red dot indicating that it was recording and everyone saw it and no one said "turn it off". Duh!
