Geez pretty much what I said.
Except that gol said it today at a presser. He's basically pick someone before we get left with no one and people are scared to play us at home.

With all due respect, no one is scared to play UCF in Orlando. I'm sure there are a lot of teams that know they risk coming away with a loss, but even gamesat their place face that same risk. It has far and away more tondo with money. The money they'd make with their own gate versus what they'd make playing at UCF. Your situation is more like what the rest og the G5 and FCS deal with.

Any team is going to try to schedule as many home games as possible. As to your original point yes they are. Bama etc no but the mid to lower range p5 are. We have had as teller home record since moving to bhns. The mid to lower range p5 are not in a position to demand two for ones except with fcs. The SOS requirements are diminishing the value of those types of teams except for the higher brands. If as you say the risk of losing the game is too high to play us then I venture to say they are afraid to play us.

Here's the question though, ECU has a history of beating the teams especially ACC teams they schedule; how are they able to schedule as easily? My only conclusion is that despite the risk of a loss they're so proximital that it's worth the risk.

Like in Real Estate: Location, location, location.
For decades, ECU was the only non-BCS Div I-A program in Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina (WV too before Marshall moved up).
If you were WVU, Va Tech, UNC, NC State, South Carolina, etc...and wanted to play a non-conf Div I-A program...ECU was basically your only non-BCS choice in that entire region.
ECU has been playing Div I-A Football since 1966...so they have a long history with most of those BCS programs in that region.

The BCS wasn't a thing when we started playing them. There really wasn't any real boundaries between us either except in UNC, and NCSU's mind

I am thinking the same thing, I don't know why I bothered to read all these posts. You all sound like a bunch of whining, crying, bit**ing, old women.
This thread has deviated so far from what the OP started its pathetic. I am so sick and tired of all the Di(k measuring. Your college sucks our college sucks yada yada yada.
Let it go already not one single person here is going to change another persons opinion of their school. If you have to resort to name calling to each other and their schools and such then you already lost the argument.
If we can't say "your school sucks, ours is great yada yada" then what's the point of this site?

Exactly. You do know that ECU was considered a rival for those schools back then don't you? There was no BCS, and ECU was in the major independent category with West Virginia, Virginia Tech, South Carolina Miami, Florida St, Penn St until the political divide happened in the 90's

I was down on this thread because I wanted to see who UCF was going to schedule...not read about whether UCF is a better name than Central Florida...pissing matches are fine if they actually have something to do with the op.

Does it really matter?
Florida State or FSU
South Florida or USF
Texas or UT
Michigan State or MSU
USC or Southern Cal
USC or South Carolina
All are acceptable and probably 50 schools or more go by 2 different names/acronyms. Everyone knows who you are either way.
I've never heard anyone living in the Orlando area refer to us as "Central Florida." It just doesn't sound correct. If someone asks me where I went to school, I say either "UCF" or "University of Central Florida."

Not as easy as you suggest, UNC and NC State took political pressure and NC State still has to be pressured. VT is a different animal, we played regularly in the 1980's as Indies and became bitter rivals in some very good close games, there is a lot mutual respect there and both want the rivalry to continue. Where we both are today could easily be flipped round. It was between VT and ECU when the BE started football in 1991. ECu actually lead the series through 1991 5-4.
